Karoo farmers in drought crisis areas receive help
While the City of Cape Town can breathe a sigh of relief with dams currently sitting at around 84% many Karoo farmers have been struggling amidst a drought crisis. Dams are drying up and farmers are having a hard time feeding their livestock. To provide a bit of relief some organisations are assisting farmers with water and feed.

AfriForum seek justice for former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper, Senzo Meyiwa
The family of Senzo Meyiwa has appointed AfriForum to represent them in investigations into the 2014 death of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper. AfriForum appointed the head of its private prosecution unit, Gerrie Nel, as the family’s advocate in the investigation into Meyiwa’s murder.

Best friend raising funds to get SA chess champion, Amahle Zenzile, to African championships
Earlier this year, Amahle Zenzile from Crossroads Township in Cape Town, achieved her South African colours for chess and is looking to fulfill her dream of representing her country at the African Youth Chess Championships in Namibia from the 14th to the 22nd December. Her best friend, Trinity Van Beeck, set up a BackaBuddy campaign to help get her there.

SAPS launches free app to fight crime
The South African Police Service (SAPS) has launched a new crime-fighting app, in partnership with Vodacom.
Police Minister Bheki Cele said that the app is designed to make it easy for citizens to access police stations. The app gives users the ability to record video, audio and take photographs.
