Almost two years after loosing my father during the the first wave of the COVID-19.
During my process of grieving so many unanswered questions, concerns and thoughts came through, because I didn’t really have a relationship with my father.
My family then encouraged me to express my feelings through song and that is how Amukela came into existence.
Amukela means to accept in my home language Xitsonga. The first step to healing is to accept and work form that point of acceptance. When Chauke Moyaj & I wrote the lyrics we knew that somehow some way the words would be relatable to many people because we are all going through some challenges that sometimes leave us hopeless and in despair.
The release of Amukela has also been delayed for also almost two years. The frustration of releasing music can take toll on you as an individual, especially an independent artist. I am also a bit nervous because as a House Music fanatic, Amukela is quite out of my comfort zone but I guess that’s the beauty of music.
I am grateful for the wait because my first single will be released with one of the biggest DSPs internationally in collaboration with .
I would love to thank God, my family, friends and supporters for the support. , Lebogang Chauke, , you guys rock 💕
