Frankie Lymon Born September 30, 1942 in Harlem, New York to Jeannette and Howard Lymon. Frankie Lymon's short lived and tragic life took him from humble beginnings, to international stardom at the age of thirteen. Lymon was the first African American teen heartthrob who's music inspired other young musicians, such as Michael Jackson. Lymon's carrer was born at the very beginning of the rock and roll era and the song he is best known for, "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?", is still considered a classic in this day and age.
