Stomach flu hit Brits town North West. For the past weeks there has been many stomach bug reports that affected alot of homes.

An intestinal infection marked by diarrhoea, cramps, nausea, vomiting and fever.

Stomach flu is typically spread by contact with an infected person or through contaminated food or water.

Many believe it's water of Madibeng and others suspect it might be food. It is still unknown what is the cause of the this alarming stocmach bug. The community of Brits are requesting Department of Health to look at this matter urgently due to influx of patients to Dr's room and pharmacies around Brits.

POLICE REQUEST COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE

RUSTENBURG: Police would like to urge members of the community in Boitekong outside Rustenburg to assist in solving a double murder case. On Thursday, 8 August 2019, at about 19:00, a male was allegedly shot and killed by unknown assailants as he walked down a street in Sondela informal settlement.

According to information available at this stage, a two-year-old child who was playing in the same area when the incident occurred, was hit by a stray bullet. The child was rushed to the local clinic, but died on arrival. As a result, the police are investigating two counts of murder.

The police request anyone with information regarding the incident including identity of the suspects, to call the Investigating Officer, WO Walter Dingiso on Cell: 060 527 9875.

MEC of health in the north west Madoda Sambatha today briefed members of the media on cases of medical negligence and latest development in his department,since becoming the MEC in December 2018 Sambatha said "He never rested on unearthing all the problems in health department" holding managers accountable, providing solutions to health services delivery challenges in entire province
Sambatha said the reports that have been doing rounds in media platforms that department of health owes R4 billion on medical negligence is not true as his department don't owe anybody such amount. MEC said R4 BILLION it's forms what is called contingency liability

Speaking on development that his department are busy with is that Tshepong hospital in klerksdorp at Dr Kenneth Kaunda district is under renovations in order to address problem of medical negligence & that the is also research team across all nine provinces in order to curb this kind of problem

Furthermore MEC Sambatha said he will promote healthy living towards Northwest residents, because his department is to promote a healthy living lifestyle *Sound bite*
