NEIGHBOUR FATALLY STABS A 23 YEARS OLD MALE.
A young man was allegedly stabbed to death with a broken bottle by his neighbour on the 30th June 2023 in Ivory Park ema7. According to the sources, the deceased was accused of stealing a car battery and was attacked in broad day light in the presence of the community. However, the accused was arrested.
Furthermore information could not be found as the community members do not want to comment , claiming they are scared of doing so.

Storm water drain restoration in progress
The Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) made an action appearance today at Ivory Park Kingdom Street 7040 to restore a stormwater drain that was filled with soil for many years since the tarring of the street.
It is alleged that a car once fell onto the blocked drain and resulted to a pithole as illustrated on the first picture and has been causing constant sewege spills.
A storm water drain is a sewer that is designed to carry rainwater runoff to reduce damage to infrastructure such as side walks, underground pipes and cables.
According to the house owner, they had reported the matter last year and no action was taken till they approached the councillor on the 11th of June 2023.
One of the JRA Facilitators stated that they are about to install a Kerb inlet (KI) which will help water to pass through drainage pipes underground.
"I am happy that they are starting the process of fixing the storm water issue because it is long overdue and it is very dangerous as we always in constant fear
of kids falling in the deep pit", Nombuso Ncube expressed.

Ward 133 Councillor Teboho Marumo is calling all residents(Men,Women/Youth) of ward 133 and the surrounding areas to attending a prayer meeting against GBV that will take place on Sunday 18 June 2023 at the Ivory Park North Hall. There will be Keynote speakers from Social Development, Faith Based Organizations, Churches, SAPS & Entertainment Industry.
All residents are urged to attend this initiative following gruesome murders and gender based violence cases this past 2 years.

The ANC branch of Ivory Park ward 133 and councillor Teboho Marumo conducted a cleaning campaign at Swazi Inn next To Pick n Pay.
They later went on to check areas within ema7 at Sakhile that needed attention. A pithole was was discovered at Kingdom street Ivory Park .

Local DJ Murders girlfriend
Mokgadi Mpanza (29) was allergedly murdered by her long term boyfriend Katiso Kgaswane commonly known as DJ Reggie (28) in the wee hours morning around 2am at the guy's home where the couple lives with the suspect's parents and their 9 years old daughter. According to our sources, the deceased had found out that the suspect is having an affair with someone and decided to misuse his bank card to prevent him from spending the money with the new 'girlfriend'. Katiso allegedly found out and they started fighting and he knocked her with a brick.
Since the couple was highly intoxicated, they thought she had passed out and took her into their room. They later realised that she has succumbed to the brick injury.
The suspect was then advised to hand himself over to the police station but he flee and he is no where to be found.
The family of the suspect pledges with the community to help find Dj Reggie and contact the Ivory Park police station should they spot him anywhere.
According to the suspect's sister Nthabiseng Mkhwanazi, the relationship has always been toxic. The couple is known for their endless fights especially when they are intoxicated. She mentioned how they had always encouraged them to break up since they are always fighting. The last encounter they had with him was when he mentioned that he will kill himself and his phone has been off since. "Justice needs to be served and we do not condone Gender Based Violence as a family" , The sister added.
The deceased was an orphan. However, they have informed her family which is situated in Alexandra and they will further discuss the funeral arrangements.
According to the family, Mokgadi was not covered with any funeral policy and they will appreciate financial donations for the funeral arrangements.

# Lerato Lamola Winter Games
The Lerato Lamola Winter games will be holding their 8th edition Tournament which will commence on Saturday the 10th of June 2023 at the Esgodini Lord Khanyile Hall Sports ground where 32 teams will be participating. A launch and an official draw was held yesterday at The Gud Life restaurant and hub. This sports event is sponsored by Ikeja , African Bank, Spring Sport wear, Lebowa Funerals, The gud life, Kae News and The Lerato Lamola foundation which made an appearance at the launch event.
According to the Tournament Director, The 2023 winter games will be distinctive from the previous years because of their nature in catering for small businesses by allowing them to sell during the course of the games as well as the additional sponsorships. “This year we are going big”, he added . He also mentioned how the Lerato Lamola foundation is giving back to the community by donating sanitary pads and school shoes to children who are from disadvantaged backgrounds.
The prizing packages for the winners are as follows: 1st place- R100 000 plus playing kit and medals , 2nd place- R50 000, Playing kit and medals and 3rd & 4th Place teams walk away with R7500 each. The Springs sportswear which is one of the sponsors of the tournament and an Ivory Park brand will also award the top coach, player of the event, top goal scorer as well as the goal keeper of the tournament. In addition , the top 11 players of the Lerato Lamola winter games will participate in the exhibition match.
