TALENT!
Let's talk about talent. What is talent? How do you know that you are talented? And just how much talent do you have? And is it enough to get you to deliver what is expected of you?
The truth of the matter is that many people like to shout from the rooftops about how Talented they are. But do they even understand any of the questions above? Being talented and being good at what you do are two different things. In acting you need to know your story. And in order to know your story you need to develop your craft. You need to acquire skills. Talent does not help you learn how to get into character, skill does. Talent does not tell you how to learn lines, skill does. Talent does not help you to translate text. Skill does. So before you can scream that you are talented, go to an institution that will be able to assess you if; 1. You actually have the talent, and 2. If the talent can help in the development of skill. Acting tends to be technical most times, and technical means training, and lots of it. So in the game of acting, the actors who work hard at their craft end up succeeding. Those who just think that they can solely rely on their talent don't quite make it. You need to train and develop basic skills in Acting. AN ACTOR PREPARES
