*RAMAPHOSA TO PRESIDE OVER THE LAUNCH OF THE BORDER MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY LAUNCH*

President Cyril Ramaphosa will on Thursday, 05 October 2023, preside over the launch of the Border Management Authority (BMA), in Musina, Limpopo Province.

The launch of the BMA follows its formal establishment and assumption of its status as a schedule 3 (A) public entity on 1 April 2023.

The establishment of the BMA means that South Africa now has an integrated border management platform, with a single command and control with which to support the attainment of secure borders, safe travel and trade.

As part of the launch, President Ramaphosa will receive President Emmerson Mnangagwa of the Republic of Zimbabwe to hold official talks and undertake a guided tour of the Beitbridge border, supported by members of the Inter-Ministerial Coordinating Committee (IMCC) on the BMA.

The President will then proceed to officiate the launch of the BMA at the Musina Show Grounds and also handover a Sword to the Commissioner of the BMA to delegate the powers to lead the third law enforcement authority in the Republic.

We sympathize with the about 100 families of the rural part of Musina: Tshiungani, Mabvete, Madimbo, Masea, Tshikhudini, Tanda, Tshenzhelani, Masisi and Bennde Mutale whose houses and livestock were destroyed by the heavy storm yesterday. Our Disaster Management Team is working tirelessly to get the affected families the necessary help and support.

We are calling upon those who are able to lend a helping hand to kindly do so. There is no small/little help in times like these 🙏🙏🙏

A 48-year-old suspect is expected to appear before Mookgopong Magistrates Court on Tuesday 26 September 2023 facing charges of possession of illicit ci******es.

The suspect was on Saturday 23 September 2023 stopped and searched at Roedtan. He was found in possession of illicit ci******es loaded into the vehicle he was driving, and the suspect was arrested on the spot.

In another unrelated incident, a tactical Operation was conducted by the members of the Provincial Organised Crime Unit that resulted in the apprehension of a male suspect for possession and dealing in drugs in the Polokwane Policing area.

More than 20 people were burnt to death when a bus collided with a truck in Musina, Limpopo yesterday afternoon. The bus was transporting mine workers to Venetia mine when it collided with a truck and caught fire.

Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety, Florence Radzilani has arrived at the accident scene that occurred at R572 road between Venetia Mine and Musina today, Monday, 18 September 2023 at Vhembe District.

MEC Radzilani is joined by the Executive Mayor of Vhembe , Dowelani Nenguda, Mayor of Musina Local Municipality, Cllr Godfrey Mawela and the Senior General Manager at Venetia Mine, Ntokozo Ngema.

The visit was able to establish that 20 people perished on the scene, and 2 passed on at the hospital. The bus company have been Identified to be belonging to the Hope Diamond Transport.

The entourage will proceed to the Venetia Mine offices to get a full report regarding the accident.

He was found dead in his bedroom by the police on Tuesday morning in Eersterust.

The police are now searching for one or more killers.

The police in Gauteng are searching for a killer responsible for murdering a teacher in Pretoria. His friends and colleagues went to Twitter to post tributes.
