Liewe Tuisskool Ouers

Soos die nuwe kwartaal begin vir skoolkinders, is dit normaal om te wens dat jy ook jou kids kan aflaai by die skool. Oor die jare, het die las van tuisskool en my kinders se onderrig ook swaar geraak op my skouers.

Vir al na 'n vakansie, wanneer ons nog die hele tyd met ons kinders was, en nou steeds is. 🤪 Daar is definitief 'n oorhandiging wat gebeur by die skole. "Dé, leer my kind als wat hulle moet weet. Stuur hom terug gereed vir die grootmens wêreld."

En nou, is dit ons verantwoordelikheid.

Wat my help in sulke tye is om die Here te vra vir nuwe visie.
Watse planne het julle hierdie kwartaal? Waaroor wil jou kind graag leer?

My een tweeling sussie stel belang in lopende skrif! Sy is kunstig en het eers begin twirly wirlys en spirale maak wanneer sy haar naam skryf. Toe sê ousus hoe dit soos lopende skrif lyk en dadelik wil Michaela weet hoe kan sy meer so skryf. Ou sus wys geduldig een aand vir haar hoe elke letter van die alfabet lyk in lopende skrif. En gister kom sit Michaela en oefen haar naam. Sy is so opgewonde!

Probeer dalk 'n nuwe handboek of kurrikulum die kwartaal . Of net 'n lapboek oor 'n interessante onderwerp. Kry 'n opwindende boek wat jy vir jou kinders kan voorlees. 'n Bybelvers wat julle saam kan leer. Doen iets nuuts en jou hart sal weer huppel met die voorreg!

Mag die Here iets nuuts in jou hart kom deponeer vanoggend. HY onderrig jou, en sal jou wys hoe om jou kind(ers) te lei.

We really need to rethink our attitude and understanding towards 'behavior.' We are too quick to conclude that the kid who is not behaving as we want him/her to is naughty or simply strong-willed. However, 'Kids do well if they can!' So when they don't, we need to ask, 'What's up and why now?' This will help us understand what delayed development or crucial cognitive skills are lacking that need support or therapy to improve!

Kids with challenging behaviors do not lack the motivation to do well, as kids naturally want to succeed. They are not attention-seeking, manipulative, coercive, or limit-testing. Instead, they lack the skills to behave well! Rewarding or punishing children who lack skills is not going to improve their abilities or make them behave better.

What they need is understanding and a parent (adult) problem-solving partnership that is collaborative and proactive. This partnership should fully grasp the reasons behind the child's challenging behavior, allowing you to help him/her develop those lacking skills.*

As jy 'n Graad 4 tuisskool leerling het, oorweeg asb om deel te neem aan my studie:

*Homeschoolers Grade 4 Reading Literacy Study*

In light of the recent Pirls (Progress in International Reading Literacy Study) results, we the Gauteng Association of Homeschoolers, invite homeschool parents and their Grade 4 learners to take part in this study.

Please select a story that your child will read from the K5 Learning website. At this link: https://www.k5learning.com/reading-comprehension-worksheets/fourth-grade-4/childrens-stories

It is a free comprehension test. There are questions that your child needs to answer once he/she has read the story. We suggest they read the story once through, then read the questions, then read the story again. You may not read the story or the questions for them. This is a study to test your Grade 4 child's reading ability and understanding of the story.

Once they have answered all the questions, please mark their work using the memorandum given. Then click on this link https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/3F3QJM5 to complete the survey and fill in your child's results (as a percentage).
