In this 3-month programme, you will be introduced to the career of Data Science and be provided with the training and certification to start your journey as a Data Scientist.

With this 3-month bursary, you will receive:

Beeline is an early stage EdTech start-up building a tool to help learners and autodidacts learn things in the most effective way. The Beeline mobile and web application enables all people to create effective learning pathways for themselves or to share with others, and to find high-quality learning pathways created by a community of knowledge seekers.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a dynamic Front-end Developer to lead everything relating to the Front-end of the web application as well as the mobile app. You will work closely with the CTO to plan, develop and launch a platform that allows users to seamlessly interact with the tools and technology. We are looking for someone that is passionate about the idea and is excited to join the team of founders to help build this platform into a world leading tool for personal and professional learning. The role will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

◉ Design, code, analyze, and test systems for web and mobile applications.
◉ Work on the full life cycle development of time sensitive projects and tools.
◉ Recommend appropriate technologies to implement new features.
◉ Develop code libraries and components.
◉ Build, deliver, and iterate to help scale the platform.
◉ Contribute to a small team consisting of the CTO, development interns, other founders and any business development roles.
◉ Provide regular updates and technical support where needed.

Required:
◉ Expert knowledge of React, Next.js

Help us change Phola's life on this youth day!☀️

To commemorate Youth Day 2021 and to celebrate the extraordinary youth of our time, in partnership with Stellietech, we will be empowering one wonderful, young lady to reach her dreams. Meet Phola. Phola is a bright, hardworking 16-year-old underprivileged girl from Cape Town, South Africa.

Despite her strengths in school subjects such as Mathematics, Art, and Music, Phola is struggling in other subjects of her schooling as a result of what we believe to be an undiagnosed case of dyslexia. Our founder, Dylan, has been working closely with Phola to assess her specific needs and to determine which computer skills and online learning materials could give her the edge that she needs. This is the primary manner in which Dylan, himself, combatted the challenges that his dyslexia presented to him throughout his own life.

Because Phola’s condition has hindered her from passing grade 1 level reading, it is crucial that we first improve Phola’s reading skills as this is our primary concern. We will then put her through a bundle of NyouLearning's computer training courses specifically geared to giving her the edge that she needs to take on the rest of her high school career and life.

We are reaching out to you, our audience, on this youth day to find someone that can help with Phola's specific needs.

If Phola’s story and journey with NyouLearning were to be shared with friends, family, and colleagues, we hope to gain awareness for Phola’s cause to find and partner with a specialist who can help Phola overcome her disability.

We are also looking to partner with an organisation that helps people with learning disabilities to take their programs online, making them accessible to our youth that are struggling with conditions similar to Phola’s.

This free Product Design course by Google, is designed to teach you how to take an idea and transform it into a product that you can build a business around.

By the end of the course, you will know how to perform a Google Design Sprint (developed at Google Ventures and exclusively taught in this course) to take your ideas from design, to prototyping and finally testing. You will also learn to create mockups for your product and record all the appropriate metrics.
