*A Grade 7 student was asked to write an essay on "THIEVES". You might be surprised to read this, but shedding some light on it. This is what he wrote:*

Thieves are also an important part of a nation's economy. They play a significant role in providing employment and contributing to the nation's development.

Safes, locks, lockers, cupboards, etc., are made only because of thieves. Many factories and workshops involved in making these items provide employment thanks to this profession.

Even in homes, masons and workers get work installing latches, locks, grills on windows and doors.

Then, to protect houses, shops, schools, colleges, offices, and factories, security guards and watchmen are essential.

Companies that manufacture CCTV cameras, metal detectors, and security systems also generate jobs.

Because of thieves, police officers, court staff, judges, lawyers, and others are employed.

Purchases of barricades, weapons, bullets, batons, uniforms, vehicles, and motorcycles for the police help boost the economy.

Thanks to thieves - jails, jailers, and prison staff have jobs.

When items like mobiles, laptops, cars, motorcycles, electrical appliances, purses, or lipsticks are stolen, people have to buy them again, which boosts business.

Famous and notorious thieves often enter politics, where even bigger thefts take place. Much more could be said, but overall, the contribution of thieves to a nation's economy is notworthy."

The teacher awarded this research-rich essay full marks (100%) and included the student in the merit list.

📰 **ARCEROLMITTAL SA SLAMS ZIMBABWE STEEL IMPORTS AS “UNFAIR COMPETITION”**

ArcelorMittal South Africa CEO Kobus Verster has raised concerns over Zimbabwean steel imports, describing them as one of several "unfair" pressures on South Africa's struggling steel sector.

South Africa imports around 37% of its steel requirements, with 94,000 tonnes of steel billets — mainly used for bars and rods — brought in duty-free from Zimbabwe in the six months to June.

Speaking on an earnings call with analysts, Verster argued that these imports undermine local producers. "It's a few things that I hope people can think about; one is the side effect from the preferential pricing system, the second is the intent of the AfCFTA, and here we have a neighbouring country that is not following any of those rules," he said, highlighting the challenge of maintaining fair competition under regional trade agreements.

Verster's comments underscore ongoing tensions in Southern Africa's steel market, where local manufacturers face pressure from cheaper imports while navigating complex trade rules under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Donald Trump is auditing every one of the 55 million visas issued to foreigners in America.
I have often warned folks countless times on my Social Media platforms to be careful about what you put on social media.
Part of that auditing will involve combing through what people have posted online.

Some of you think you can rush and delete things, but what you do not know is this—once you put something on the internet, it is permanent and AI can pick it up easy.
You may remove it from your apps, but on the internet it remains forever.

Thousands of student visas have already been revoked, some under the “catch and revoke” strategy targeting those with perceived pro‑Palestinian views through AI-assisted social media monitoring.

When we talk and warn folks, they insult us and dismiss us, yet there are always consequences. Some of us are not affected because our work protects us — I cannot be denied a visa because I wrote a hard-hitting article criticising the Norwegian Prime Minister.

That is my professional work as a journalist. But you, as a plumber, a nurse, a student, or any other ordinary professional, can be denied a visa, or have your visa revoked, because of reckless things you posted in anger, and no organisation can stand up for you as happens with journalists.

Donald Trump is petty, extremely petty, and I fear this will affect many people back home. From what I am hearing, prepare for disaster. And remember this powerful truth—your words today can build or burn your future tomorrow — the internet never forgets.

In 1978, over 600 Namibians were killed like chickens in the HuĂla Province of Angola. The pilots who dropped bombs on those Namibians on behalf of the South African Defence Forces were Israelis. Today Namibia has a public holday to mourn those events. How would our neighbours feel that the Israelis who once dropped bombs on them now have a home next door in our capital city of Lusaka.

But for that you claim "Kalimbwe is a toddler & kid in politics, sometimes he doesn't understand basics. He doesn't understand that Israel is a blessed land". Israel had nothing to do with the differences between Namibians and the SNDF, but they were more than happy to be an accomplice to the crime and help kill Namibians. When called upon to fly planes and drop bombs at Cassinga, they did so willingly. Then others say its old stories, we must on. You cant accuse me of hating on Israel for starting these documented truths.

You can't accuse me of clinging to the Lusaka Manifesto of 1969 for the stance our country once took in the politics of the Frontline States. You can't use my age as a smokescreen on which to project & weigh my political maturity and say because i was born in 1993 then i must be dismissed as a child whose views on our country maintaining its foreign policy of 1973 are outdated. As a nation, we build up from examples of the past. Thats why the United States still talks about its policies at Pearl harbour. It drew lessons from those examples and sought to rebuild its standing in global politics.

Its like i come and kill your brothers today. Then tomorrow you welcome me into your house and give me tea because its been 5 years since i killed your brothers and you must forget because am a blessed child of Israel. We don't know the pain Namibians feel over the death of their citizens at Cassinga, thats why they still mourn those dark days decades later. Namibia always views Zambia as its brother, a brother who once gladly gave them shelter. We can't come now and say their pain at Cassinga is old stories of the past and we start to dine with those who killed their children !!!

Thousands of Africans working in the UK under the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) or Skilled Worker visas are in panic after the British government announced new immigration rules. Over 100 job roles—including agriculture, hospitality, logistics, health, welfare, protective services, and the creative industry—have been removed from the sponsorship list. Only roles on a new "Temporary Shortage Occupation List" remain eligible, mainly in lower-skilled sectors. The new rules also raise salary thresholds for skilled worker roles to $53,300 per year and for health and care roles to $32,800 after all deductions.
