Graça Machel Trust - Women Creating Wealth Call for Application

The Graça Machel Trust Women Creating Wealth Programme (WCW) has launched The Firestarters' Investor Readiness Program, targeting African women entrepreneurs based in South Africa, Kenya, or Uganda. The program aims to support female business owners who have a successful track record, an established business, and a viable market but are struggling to secure investment. The ten-month program is designed to help these entrepreneurs take their businesses to the next level and attract the required investment to scale up.

Nangamso's urge was always the passion to be a town planner, and to dive deep into this so-called male-dominated arena. We all know that being a female in a male-dominated industry is hard, you face a variety of challenges that include societal expectations and beliefs about women's leadership capabilities.

Unsurprisingly, hers has been a journey not without obstacles as she's had to navigate her way around an industry in which women have historically been the exception rather than the norm. She acquitted herself well nonetheless, until a retrenchment inspired her to dabble into entrepreneurship. It was to be expected that she would emerge as a paragon of wisdom on gender dynamics owing to her exposure to a male-dominated space, and in this regard she emphasises the importance of bringing men to the realisation that to be expressive and open even at an emotional level is not a weakness...

From reading Thandazani's story, you can say that leadership has always been running inside her vains from a tender age. The Empangeni born, Multi-Award winner speaks about her journey in business as a young female entrepreneur who was not afraid to start her catering and events company from as little as R300! Her passion has seen herself rise, spreading her wings and being recognized in the highest of places. Thandazani has recently released a product called Nourish SA , a healthy product under her company, which aims to promote a healthy lifestyle, she's also been accepted at the Acedemy for women entrepreneurs which in partnership with US Embassy.
