I started Bold Touch Digital Agency after being retrenched from a job I had started just 6 months ago (cheers, COVID). It’s okay- it wasn’t the job I needed to be in, and it actually ended up being a blessing in disguise.

It jumped started this journey I knew I had to embark on, and while every moment of it has been slightly terrifying (entrepreneurship, am I right?) it has been so worth it. Every day I’m faced with new opportunities, meet new people and get new opportunities to grow.

The first step in creating any brand worth remembering is to create the story behind it 💭 Stories are how we connect with one another, how we share what’s in our hearts ♥️ Remember, people don’t buy products only for their function- they make buying decisions on emotional factors too (that is, the story they’ve attached to your brand, like security or nostalgia). So, for your brand, it’s how your people connect and resonate with what you’re trying to say over the hoards of other brands trying to talk to them at the very same time 📣

So how do you create a story?🤔 Well, you could do a brand discovery exercise. This is when you sit down with the idea of your brand and you break it down into its parts. You could start by asking relevant questions such as “who am I trying to reach with my brand?” and “what do I want my audience to feel when they interact with my brand?” In doing so, you will discovery your Why, the reason you began in the first place, and once you have that, you can breathe life into this idea that exists in your head and bring it into the world to hopefully delight and engage your target audience.✨

The secret of every good brand design. Sometimes people get lost in the visual elements of the brand- and don’t get us wrong, they are important- but when you’ve clearly defined your brand and what it stands for, visuals like the colors and the font and the logo almost just come to you. It’s simple. And in most cases, you just need someone to guide you through that process of defining and understanding your own brand.
