ℹ Revealed - Solomons rejected Royal AM, Swallows ready to refund MaMKhize

New Kaizer Chiefs player Dillon Solomons refused to join Royal AM, making it clear he wants to go to Amakhosi.

Swallows chairman David Mogashoa has finally broken his silence and he has stated that he is now ready to refund Royal AM chairperson Shauwn Mkhize.

“Royal AM made contact before anyone else [to say] that they were interested in three players at Swallows – [Ruzaigh] Gamildien, [Khetukuthula] Ndlovu and Solomons," Mogashoa told SABC.

“There was a club-to-club agreement that they [AM] could speak to the players after the season has ended.”

"We believe that they have concluded a deal with Gamildien but Solomons did not want to go there, he refused. He wanted to go to Chiefs. You cannot stand in the players’ ways and say ‘go to Royal AM’. I may want him to go there but I can’t force him,” Mogashoa explained.

“Solomons did not sign any contract with AM, he is at Chiefs, where he signed a contract. The only thing AM has was a club-to-club agreement.”

Royal AM reportedly paid Swallows an amount in the region of R1.5-million for the three players.

“There’s no issue there – of course, there was money involved. If someone comes and says, ‘I like your car, please don’t sell it,’ but after three days they don’t want it anymore, and you’ve stopped people that have bought the same car… We will sit down with AM and resolve the issues,” the chairman added without confirming or denying the figure.

“Solomons didn’t want to go there. If there are any refunds, they will be processed and the matter will be closed. The only problem could have been, had Solomons signed, he can’t sign two contracts.”

ℹ Why Shabalala will play in reserve team despite Chiefs promotion

Kaizer Chiefs' teenage sensation Mduduzi Shabalala is set to continue playing in the DStv Diski Challenge in the upcoming season despite having been promoted to the club's first team

The 18-year-old recently signed a three-year deal, which is his maiden professional contract as a reward for his excellent performances in the Diski Challenge and Cosafa youth tournament.

It turns out Shabalala will train with the Amakhosi first team occasionally while spending more time with the reserve team which campaigns in the Diski Challenge when the 2022-23 season starts.

This is because the South Africa youth international is doing his matric this year and he will be focusing on his studies while turning out for the reserve team under coach Vela Khumalo

However, once he completes his matric exams later this year, Shabalala will spend more time with the first team as he looks to cement his place in Arthur Zwane's team.

While also playing for Khumalo's side in Premier Soccer League reserve league and cup competitions if he is not included in the matchday squad by Zwane.
