A STORY TO TELL, WHAT HAS THE WORLD BECOME INTO???

Vertasha and I knew we were attracted to each other when she was sixteen," Mary Carter said. "But we decided to wait to have s*x until she was eighteen, legally of age. We are now going public with our relationship to help others who might be in gay mother/daughter relationship feel confident and okay about coming out. We want the world to know we love each other as mother and daughter and romantically."

Other aspects of the article retained the same casual tone about the supposed mother-daughter le***an relationship, with a second quote reading:

"We're women, so Vertasha and I obviously can't make children," Mary Carter said. "It'd be one thing if her daddy (he's out of the picture) got her pregnant and a baby was born with deformities, but we're not hurting anyone. We're a new minority and just want acceptance."
Vertasha is apparently happy with the relationship as well.

"My mom is still my mom. She does normal mom stuff: buys me clothes, pays for food, tells me to make our bed. We just happen to enjoy s*x with each other too."

Timbuktu of Malian Empire (present day Mali) in West Africa is home to one of the world's oldest universities Sankore, where in the 1200s AD there are books full of manuscripts written mostly in Ajami (In this case in African languages such as Hausa being written as Arabic).

When Europeans and Western Asians began visiting and colonizing Mali from 1300s-1800s AD, Malians began to hide the manuscripts in basements, attics and underground, fearing destruction or theft by foreigners.

This was certainly a good idea, given Europeans' history of stealing and/or destroying texts in Kemet and other areas of the continent. Many of the scripts, such as the one shown below, were mathematical and astronomical in nature.

The Songhai Empire II

The Songhai Empire (also transliterated as Songhay) was a state that dominated the western Sahel/Sudan in the 15th and 16th century. At its peak, it was one of the largest states in African history. The state is known by its historiographical name, derived from its leading ethnic group and ruling elite, the Songhai. Sonni Ali established Gao as the capital of the empire, although a Songhai state had existed in and around Gao since the 11th century. Other important cities in the empire were Timbuktu and Djenné, conquered in 1468 and 1475 respectively, where urban-centered trade flourished and to the south is the north Akan state of Bonoman. Initially, the empire was ruled by the Sonni dynasty (c. 1464–1493), but it was later replaced by the Askia dynasty (1493–1901).

During the second half of the 13th century, Gao and the surrounding region had grown into an important trading center and attracted the interest of the expanding Mali Empire. Mali conquered Gao towards the end of the 13th century. Gao would remain under Malian hegemony until the late 14th century. As the Mali Empire started to disintegrate, the Songhai reasserted control of Gao. Songhai rulers subsequently took advantage of the weakened Mali Empire to expand Songhai rule.

Under the rule of Sonni Ali, the Songhai surpassed the Malian Empire in area, wealth, and power, absorbing vast areas of the Mali Empire and reached its greatest extent. His son and successor, Sonni Bāru (1492–1493), was a less successful ruler of the empire, and as such was overthrown by Muhammad Ture (1493–1528; called Askia), one of his father's generals, who instituted political and economic reforms throughout the empire.

A series of plots and coups by Askia's successors forced the empire into a period of decline and instability. Askia's relatives attempted to govern the empire, but political chaos and several civil wars within the empire ensured the empire's continued decline, particularly during the brutal rule of Askia Ishaq I (1539–1549). The empire experienced a period of stability and a string of military successes during the reign of Askia Daoud (1549–1582/1583). Ahmad al-Mansur, the Moroccan sultan at the time, demanded tax revenues from the empire's salt mines.

Askia Daoud responded by sending a large quantity of gold as a gift in an attempt to appease the sultan. Askia Ishaq II (1588–1591) ascended to power in a long dynastic struggle following the death of Askia Daoud. He would be the last ruler of the imperial Songhai empire. In 1590, al-Mansur took advantage of the recent civil strife in the empire and sent an army under the command of Judar Pasha to conquer the Songhai and to gain control of the Trans-Saharan trade routes. After the disastrous defeat at the Battle of Tondibi (1591), the Songhai Empire collapsed.

Thomas Fuller the African maths genius also known as "Negro Tom" and the "Virginia Calculator", was an enslaved African born in today Benin 🇧🇯 1710 and died in 1790 USA renowned for his mathematical abilities. Also known as a mental calculator.

shipped to America as a slave in 1724. He had remarkable powers of calculation, and late in his life was discovered by antislavery campaigners who used him as a demonstration that blacks were superior not inferior to whites in academics.

In this report, Rush stressed the credibility of Hartshorne and Coates. Rush retold how Hartshorne and Coates tested Fuller's mathematical abilities as follows:

First. Upon being asked, how many seconds there are in a year and a half, he answered in about two minutes, 47,304,000.

Second. On being asked how many seconds a man has lived, who is seventy years, seven- teen days and twelve hours old, he answered, in a minute and a half, 2,210,500,800.

One of the gentlemen, who employed himself with his pen in making these calculations, told him he was wrong, and that the sum was not so great as he had said-upon which the old man hastily replied, “top, massa, you forget de leap year.” On adding the seconds of the leap years to the others, the amount of the whole in both their sums agreed exactly.

Third. The following question was then proposed to him: suppose a farmer has six sows, and each sow has six female pigs, the first year, and they all increase in the same proportion, to the end of eight years, how many sows will the farmer then have? In ten minutes, he answered, 34,588,806. The difference of time between his answering this, and the two former questions, was occasioned by a trifling mistake he made from a misapprehension of the question.

Despite Fuller's perfect answers, it appeared to Hartshorne and Coates that his mental abilities must have once been greater. Rush wrote:

He was grey-headed, and exhibited several other marks of the weakness of old age. He had worked hard upon a farm during the whole of life but had never been intemperate in the use of spirituous liquors. He spoke with great respect of his mistress, and mentioned in a particular manner his obligations to her for refusing to sell him, which she had been tempted to by offers of large sums of money from several persons. One of the gentlemen, Mr. Coates, having remarked in his presence that it was a pity he had not an education equal to his genius, he said, "No, Massa, it is best I had no learning, for many learned men be great fools."

No one could challenge his abilities in mathematics.

Thabo Bester escape: Correctional Services.

Pretoria: The Department of Correctional Services (DCS) has indicated it will not be renewing its contract with G4S to run Mangaung Prison, following the movie-style escape by “Facebook Rapist” Thabo Bester.

The Minister of Justice and Correctional Services Ronald Ramola said this in his reply in Parliament to EFF MP Yoliswa Yako. Yako’s questions came after the nation learned Bester, who was said to have died in a mysterious fire in the prison, had escaped.
G4S was a member of a consortium that agreed to manage Mangaung Prison for 25 years under a contract with the DCS.
The contract between the government and the multinational private security company was expected to run until June 30, 2026.

EFF REFUSES TO PAY OVER R200K TO COCT FOR REMOVAL OF NATIONAL SHUTDOWN POSTERS

CAPE TOWN - The City of Cape Town and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) are embroiled in a fight over the red beret's national shutdown posters.

The city says the party did not have its permission to put up posters for Monday’s shutdown.

However, the EFF says the city is lying.

Cape Town Deputy Mayor Eddie Andrews said the EFF owes the city more than R200,000 for the removal of more than 400 posters across the metro.

Andrews added that the figure could rise should the EFF fail to remove the remaining posters.

"To date, the city has removed 400 posters in Cape Town and the charge for the removal is R514 per poster, for which the EFF will be liable."

'My turn to be president'

Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged the winner of a closely fought contest for Nigeria's presidency. But who is the man who will lead Africa's largest economy -- as well as inherit its plethora of economic and security crises?

Tinubu, who turns 71 later this month, was governor in Lagos between 1999 and 2007, where he is credited with pioneering reforms that led to transformation of the state, now Nigeria's economic hub.
He will become Nigeria's fifth president since the country returned to democratic rule in 1999, emerging as winner for the country's top job on his first attempt.
However, opposition parties have rejected the results and say they will challenge it in court. The election was marred by reports of voter suppression, and outbreaks of violence, particularly in Tinubu's stronghold Lagos. Voters also faced lengthy delays and some election officials failed to turn up to polling stations.
