GUESS WHAT? THERE IS HOPE!
I've seen so many new businesses starting out on social media with so much hope and excitement. I've seen them spend hours designing and posting adverts to their pages & uploading products to their Facebook shop, but after a couple of weeks of putting in all that time and energy the following happens: (is this you?)
> You don't get the engagement you wanted, or it begins to decline slowly.
> You start comparing yourself to similar, more successful businesses and become overwhelmed.
> You don't get any sales/leads via social media and start to wonder if there is even a point to using it at all.
If you've identified yourself above, great! Keep reading! The questions you should be asking yourself is, “Is there a way to improve this?”, and most importantly, “can I do it myself?" The good news is that the answer is Yes and YES.
I'll never forget this valuable tip that I learned from someone that I highly respect in the industry: "Step one is to always remember, social media is supposed to be Social. That's why it is called SOCIAL media." And yes, this changes the game. The key here is Balance. Maintain a balance between advert posting and engaging with your followers "socially".
Secondly, understanding your business’ sales funnel and knowing where social media slots in will give you a better idea of how to use it to your advantage.
I must be honest, it's a bit of a thinker. Also, in no way am I saying that doing ONLY this will guarantee your business’ success, however, really understanding this concept will get you further ahead than most and is a crucial first step to getting your business on the right track.
