Ladylike Media is inspired by my grandmother, who always told me, "Act like a lady." She was the definition of grace—kind, determined, and deeply rooted in community. As part of an entrepreneurial family that helped shape the Jewish South African community, she believed being a lady wasn’t just about appearances but about character.

Her values of hard work, honesty, and dignity shaped my life and became the heart of Ladylike. Here, we do business like true ladies—gracefully, with empathy, and a dedication to making a positive impact.

Oh, and yes, while we roll up our sleeves to get the work done, you’ll never catch us without a fresh manicure. 💅

Scrolling through LinkedIn today, I came across one too many job posts for Graphic Designers (Social Media Specialists)😠. Now, don’t get me wrong—both roles are invaluable, but combining them into one position? It’s not as efficient as it might sound.

Here’s why:

Graphic design and social media strategy require completely different skill sets. A designer’s strength is in visual storytelling—crafting eye-catching graphics and layouts that draw people in. Meanwhile, a social media specialist understands platform algorithms, audience engagement, and analytics to grow an online presence. When these two roles are lumped together, you risk losing quality in both areas. It’s like expecting your chef to also run the front of the house at a restaurant—possible, but far from ideal.

We are currently in search of a Junior Content Creator, with a particular focus on students or interns, for a project-dependent role within our agency team. While this position is not a full-time commitment, it is crucial for the candidate to possess proficiency in the following areas:

1. Videography (must have your equipment)
2. Video editing specifically for short-form video
3. Social media management
4. Adobe Suite, Chat GPT and Canva

Your main responsibility in this role will be to create short-form video content with different products that will be used across various platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. There is alot of space to grow within this role as our agency is always growing and adapting to client needs.

This is a remote job however, applicants must be based in Johannesburg and able to travel.
