We've got that BIG BRAND ENERGY 🔥Admit it, we all get a little fan-girly when we’re around someone who’s got a big following. Think of your fav celeb, it’s important to stop and remember that they, too, are just normal people like you and I. Well, the same goes for well-known businesses and their brand.

Our clients often send us inspo of ’successful’ brands they love, typically followed with the comment “we know they’re a big biz and we’re not on their level, but we love this and that….”Let’s back track a sec. More often than not, those ‘big’ brands aren’t doing anything special. It's all pretty basic in the big scheme of things and VERY achievable, but you get caught up in a brand’s success to consider the steps they’ve taken are the same you’re going through now. The difference? The big(ger) guys didn’t half ass it. They built up their brand identity from the get go, paid professionals to do the stuff they aren't good at so they had time to focus on the things they are. Sure, it's a little bit easier for them because they (might) have more money behind them, but everyone starts somewhere and they, too, were once a startup just working things out as they went.

OUR CLIENTS ARE DOING BIG THINGS! Congratulations to .attorneys now Dolata Clement & Co. on their successful merge. We have been with JJB Attorneys from the very beginning, it makes us so happy seeing our clients grow into spaces they'd only ever dreamed of before - to say we are proud is an understatement!

With that, they of course needed a whole new look and feel! We opted for a more neutral, cooler colour palette, a chic new logo suite, website refresh and Instagram templates.

Let's talk about Canva…

This amazing tool (and new features) are underused, but also over saturated on your social feeds, amirite? It's so easy to spot a Canva template that hasn't been properly stylised and customised to suit the brand...

Here are a few tips to ensure your business is standing OUT from the pre-made templates. And in case we don't say it enough - Consistency is KEY. ;)

How to use Canva templates that speak to your brand aesthetic:
1. Don't cram too much content on one slide - carousels are better!
2. Ensure you have hierarchy to highlight the important content: Title, body, call to action.
3. Use white space - eliminate overpowering images and graphics.
Keep it simple!
4. Always update the fonts so they speak to your brand - hint: use the brand kit feature, or create one graphic with your brand colors and fonts, and use it every time you make a new post!
5. Use a consistent colour palette for each campaign, or content type you share often.

Tone of Voice. Brand Voice. No matter what you'd like to call it, it is how your brand persona is conveyed through messaging.

The particular mood or emotion that is conveyed to the audience through specific word choices and messaging styles is your Tone of Voice.

A casual tone is perfect for brands with friend-like personas, whilst a formal tone would best fit an expert in their field.

We have adapted The Four Dimensions of Tone of Voice concept, which focuses on the following four comparisons: funny vs serious, formal vs casual, respectful vs irreverent and enthusiastic vs matter-of-fact.

This scale metric is used when formulating our branding client's brand strategy and I must say, it's super effective in conveying the exact tone we are trying to establish.
