En 1923 un cometa pasó muy cerca de la Tierra, muy cercano a un pueblo en Finlandia, lo que provocó desorientación en las personas, algunos se perdieron y nunca volvieron a casa, otros perdían la memoria temporalmente.
Una mujer acudió a la policía muy asustada a decirles que el hombre que estaba en su casa no era su marido. Cuando la policía fue a su casa le dijeron que efectivamente ese si era su marido, la mujer les dijo que su marido había fallecido hace muchos años. Pero la policía no pudo detener al hombre, porque era su marido tal como constaba en el registro público.
En 1935 un científico intentó explicar el fenómeno. Encerró a un gato en una caja con veneno. El animal tenía el 50% de probabilidades de vivir y 50% de morir, es decir ante dos posibilidades se crean dos realidades en universos diferentes. Si los universos paralelos realmente existiesen, el gato seguiría vivo en un universo y mu**to en otro universo paralelo.
La mujer murió diciendo que ese no era su marido. Mientras que el hombre simplemente dijo que ella si era su mujer.
Desde que nacemos conocemos una sola realidad —en la cual vivimos—, pero según algunos científicos podría haber varias. Esto implica que lo que no sucede en nuestro mundo, puede estar sucediendo en otro. Incluso puede haber muchas versiones de nosotros mismos en otros universos.
