September 24th🫂, a day so dear,
Heritage🧫 Day, we gather here,
From diver roots, we unite as one ,
Celebrating culture, language, and fun.
In Afrikaans, we say "Erfenisdag" with pride,
In English, "Heritage Day", side by side,
In isiNdebele, "Ilifa lezikaZulu",
In isiXhosa, "Usuku wolifa".
In isiZulu, "Ilifa lezikaZulu" echoes loud,
In Sesotho, "Letsatsi la Puo",
In Setswana, "Tlhakolela ya Setswana",
In siSwati, "Lilanga lakaNgwane".
In Xitsonga, "Makwerhu wa Rixaka",
In Tshivenda, "Vhurereli ha Vhavenda",
In isiKhoe/San, "Khwa ttu Heritage",
In Sign Language, hands unite.
From Table Mountain to the Drakensberg,
Our land's rich history, we must preserve,
From Nelson Mandela to Steve Biko,
Our struggle heroes, we honor.
We dance, sing, and tell our stories,
Our heritage, a treasure to explore,
Embracing our roots, we stand tall,
South Africa's heritage, for one and all.
In unity and pride, we celebrate,
Our diversity shines, like the morning light,
From north to south, east to west,
South Africa's heritage, we love the best.
