POLICE RESCUE MAN FROM MOB JUSTICE AT LWAMONDO

Police have rescued a young man from an attempted mob justice incident after he was apprehended by local residents.

The man, known to have been terrorizing the community, had reportedly been on the run from police and was found along the road attempting to escape.

The residents of Lwamondo quickly surrounded him, restrained him, and tied him with rope.

Police arrived in time to prevent further escalation and took the man into custody.

LEARNERS BRAVE THE STREETS IN PURPLE SPEEDOS TPTO RAISE AWARENESS FOR PROSTATE AND TESTICULAR CANCER IN THOHOYANDOU

Thousands of courageous men across South Africa hit the streets in just purple speedos and sneakers, braving a 5km run to raise awareness for prostate and testicular cancer.

In Limpopo, participants of all ages joined the cause, including students from Marude and Milton Mfumedzen Secondary Schools in Thohoyandou.

This spirited event, in partnership with CANSA and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa (PCA), highlights the importance of early detection, as testicular and prostate cancers are often highly treatable when identified early.

By rallying communities together, the campaign encourages men to prioritize their health and seek regular check-ups.

HELP THOHOYANDOU POLICE TO LOCATE A MISSING MAN AGED 32

THOHOYANDOU: The South African Police Service in Thohoyandou are seeking public assistance in locating a missing person, Talifhani Nekhwevha, a 32-year-old male resident of Itsani Matieni Village.

Talifhani was reportedly last seen on Friday, 27 September 2024, and has since disappeared. He was last seen wearing black jean, navy blue golf shirt
and black tekkies. He is dark, tall and slender.

Several searches were conducted by police and community members at relatives' homes, friends' residences, and neighboring villages, with no success.

MAYOR SHADRACK MALULEKE DONATES SCHOOL SHOES AND UNIFORM TO HASANI LAWRENCE PRIMARY SCHOOL LEARNERS

MUKHOMI : Collins Chabane Local Municipality Mayor Cllr Shadrack Maluleke continued with his initiative of donating to schools when he visited Hasani Lawrence primary school.

Learners from disadvantaged backgrounds benefit the most from the mayor's ongoing donations. Since the beginning of the year, Mayor Maluleke has visited numerous schools within the municipal jurisdiction to donate shoes, tablets and uniforms.

He was joined by the Local leader Cllr Manganye and members of Mukhomi royal Council leader by Hosi Mukhomi Richard Mabasa.

Dzanani residents and surrounding areas have today marched to Makhado Local Municipality offices to deliver their memorandum.

The residents demand for permanent water supply , exact time frame for completing the taxi rank and park projects.

The memorandum states that they will strike and block all the activities on R523 road if their demand are not met.

"The people of Dzanani Township and surrounding areas demand real permanent change".

MINIBUS BURNS TO ASHES IN WATERVAAL WATERVAAL : A school transport caught fire and burnt to ashes on Monday afternoon at Watervaal township near Elim in Makhado Municipality, Vhembe District. The minibus caught fire while transporting the kids to their respective homes from school. According to the Minibus driver,Sheriff Davana(also known as Prophet Sheriff), smoke started under his seat. "I opened the seat to check where the smoke came from then there were flames coming out of the engine. I emmediately ensured the kids are out and some jumped through the windows" Sheriff said. The Minibus had 15 kids on board. It used to transport little kids from the age of 5 to 12 around Elim, Watervaal and Mpheni. All kids escaped without injuries. #VhembeObserver
