Om daardie goeie verhouding te handhaaf en lojale lesers te behou, is redaksielede bewus van hul lesersmark, en prioritiseer hulle stories uit die gemeenskappe wat hulle dek, volgens Neil Scott, redakteur van dié dagblad.

“Lesers beskou ons joernaliste as maatskaplike werkers, counsellors, wetstoepassers en familie. Daar is byvoorbeeld gevalle waar lesers ‘Son’ bel vóór hulle die polisie of ambulansdienste vanaf ’n misdaadtoneel kontak,” sê Scott aan ‘SMF’.
