When a client approached Wayne Exner and his team at Ace Customs with a 1989 BMW E30 325i 2-door, he asked them to go crazy. Well...crazy they went! Ace Customs fabricated their own widebody kit drawing inspiration from the likes of Rocket Bunny with exposed screw heads, bumper extensions, and an M3 CSL-inspired boot lid. The fabrication in the engine bay makes space for a 1UZ Lexus V8 attached to a Magnuson MP90 supercharger. This endows the car with 195kW, and there’s also a NOS kit that ramps up the power to 228kW. Thanks to the supercharger, the engine gives off an unholy whine. Downright rude!

Peaceful Protest! The Mk1 Ford Cortina is an undying symbol of Ford’s past but thanks to Vincent Hugo, this gunmetal Cortina has been dragged kicking and screaming into the future. After a painstaking restoration process, ardent Ford lovers would be happy to know that Vinny chucked in an infamous Mazda FE lump - with a Holset HX35/40 turbocharger - and a 5-speed transmission from a 1995 Mazda RX7. Cruising through the streets of Pretoria on pump fuel, Vinny's classic makes a modest 230kW and 1bar boost. Would you rock this retro racer? We sure would! Video link in comments below.

Homebuilt Hero - Philip Reynecke's Ford Es**rt XR3 was gifted to him on his matric dance evening. 20 years later, the little XR3 has become somewhat quicker and faster! With a Dicktator ECU calling the shots, the turbocharged 1.6 CVH motor makes 160kW and 1.1 bar boost, on pump fuel. Philip's XR3 is a window into a time when the scene embraced a simpler approach. The XR3 is hands-down one of the coolest 80s classic cars.
