Navigating my time-consuming career and contributing to Rivier Rekord in the last nine weeks has been nearly impossible.
Given this, I am contemplating the appointment of a junior freelance reporter.
Finding the right candidate requires factors such as a background in journalism, media, or writing. Alternatively, a keen interest in journalism and impeccable writing skills in both English and Afrikaans are essential.
Every piece you submit will, as is media procedure, undergo scrutiny from both a subeditor and the editor, with a high likelihood of reworking submissions, especially at the beginning of your time with us.
While I am open to investing effort in teaching the basics of journalism, my time constraints necessitate a candidate capable of following assignments, taking initiative, and contributing as a dedicated reporter.
Due to Rivier Rekord's current lack of return on investment, iOlogue Media (Pty) Ltd. will pay the chosen candidate's wages, demonstrating our commitment to journalism and confidence in this new venture: Rivier Rekord.
The selected individual, a woman, will be responsible for reporting on stories beyond my time capacity, focusing on more serious issues than day-to-day matters.
Maintaining a strict policy against slander or gossip, our reporter will refrain from ego-driven writing or indulging in paparazzi nonsense. Our primary focus is on matters of community interest only, ensuring a commitment to avoiding any form of defamation towards businesses or individuals.
Our aim is to unearth the truth and present factual information by posing challenging questions without imposing personal beliefs in her writings.
Furthermore, the selected candidate will receive invaluable training from someone with 34 years of media expertise, gaining both experience and priceless knowledge.
This mentorship guarantees that the selected reporter will acquire insights, skills, and ethical standards, upholding the principles of responsible journalism.
If you are passionate about unbiased reporting, community interests, and upholding the truth, please WhatsApp Anchen at 081-713-5137 with your full name and surname.
In two separate messages, provide two written motivations about why you should be considered. Motivations should be between 150 and 200 words each, one in English and one in Afrikaans.
Unsuccessful candidates will not receive a response. Avoid excessive messaging; our decision will be final.
If compliance with the outlined requests proves challenging, consider opting out now.
Should you be considered, a timed test without internet access will follow at a disclosed time and place.
