Telling a skilled singer that they can’t/shouldn’t riff is like telling a millionaire they can’t buy a mansion because you live in the hood/kasi!!!

Who doesn't miss the former President Jacob Zuma's singing? Just a throw back and sharing the words "we have come far but we still have a long way to go". Happy Friday!😊
I came across my bro 's Instagram story where he was singing this tune and I instantly envisioned these harmonies backing his vocals. I initially thought that it was an original by him as he is that good as a musician however he alluded to me that it's by .

TBT to old school Acappella…
This sound brings back a whole lot of memories, it was very popular in the Adventist circles in East London around the late 80’s and early 90’s. This is the sound that made me fall in love with Acappella music.
I remember my uncle had a group called JVC (All Male Voice Groups back then were called JVC – don’t ask me why I’m also as clueless lol). But these guys were rehearsing at my house, there were about 9 or 10 of them. And they were struggling with their first Tenor or the guy didn’t pitch up for rehearsals that day (can’t remember).
I came closer and closer into the dining room as they were practising for an afternoon performance that Sabbath.
They would chase me out of the room, but I kept on finding my way back in. I eventually started singing softly along with them and gradually increased my volume.
So, the guys were impressed with the guy singing the first tenor part – but he said its actually this boy(me) singing. They were very impressed because this solved their problem and the group sounded good. I was then asked to join for that performance lol. This was a very exciting moment for me, but it also turned very sour because during the performance everyone at church was focused on this young boy (around age 7/8) singing with these 18-year olds.
After that performance I was kicked out of the group for all the attention I got lol…
Thanks to Blake Nxumalo for sharing the Humming Birds music it took me back to those days.
Memory lane😁😁😁
Oh man this old school harmony has too much weight in memories 😁
Thank you so much for your contribution, for stepping into my world and sharing this moment with me. 🥰
I am particularly proud of this production, especially because of my mother. This was her very first time and she gave it character and professionalism. ❤
Many many thanks!

Ever wondered what the 70's vs 90's would sound like ?🥰
This project is one of the most dearest to me ofcourse featuring Mother Dearest ❤
Whilst this project offers that generational fusion of sounds it also allowed my mother who's been curious about my studio work to finally step in and get a picture of the production and be a contributor as well (I actually bullied her *hides*). In this project she is singing a section on one of her favorite hymns and she gave it her all🥰.
Do stay tuned for the final product, I'll give a sample soon. I'm so excited fam!!!
