NEWS: The state has withdrawn theft charges against the president of the South African Football Association, Danny Jordaan, and SAFA Chief Financial Officer, Gronie Hluyo.

The prosecution announced this during their appearance at the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Palm Ridge. However, both men still face three counts of fraud and one count of conspiracy to commit fraud.

State advocate Moagi Malebati informed the court that the prosecution had revised its charge sheet, leading to the removal of the theft charges against Jordaan and Hluyo.

Malebati suggested a longer remand to address various issues levelled by the accused, including an apparent amendment to the charge sheet.

He said he's not impressed by the reasons given by President Cyril Ramaphosa over why the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) was in the DRC.At least 14 troops have been killed on a peacekeeping mission to the DRC.

The city of Goma is at the centre of a war between the country's force and the rebel militia group M23, which is allegedly backed by Rwanda.Mashaba said the country’s soldiers must be used to solve issues at home.

"We want answers, and we demand them, and we’re not going to stop making noise about this because we want our soldiers back in our country to come and actually guard our borders to stop international criminal syndicates coming into our country."

NEWS: US will ‘take over’ Gaza Strip and relocate Palestinians to neighboring countries -Trump’s declaration

“The US will take over the Gaza Strip and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said, unveiling what he called his “long-term ownership” and redevelopment plan for the enclave, much of which has been reduced to rubble after 15 months of war between Israel and Hamas.

Israeli airstrikes have damaged or destroyed around 60% of buildings, including schools and hospitals, and around 92% of homes, according to the United Nations.

“We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site, level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings,” Trump said Tuesday.

Trump did not rule out sending in US troops, saying “as far as Gaza is concerned, we’ll do what is necessary.”

It’s not clear how exactly Trump’s proposed land grab would work, and analysts have cast doubt on the feasibility of his plan.

Most of the two million people living in Gaza won’t want to leave, raising the question of whether they could be forcefully removed – which is prohibited under international law.
