Ghost Hunting at a private home in Pretoria, South Africa
🩶 Unseen 👻 Season 01/Episode 01

The Upsidedown Paranormal team recently conducted an investigation at a private residence in Pretoria, where the homeowner reported experiencing unusual occurrences.

This is not something we usually do but we felt drawn to this specific case.

Our team meticulously set up equipment throughout the house and conducted a variety of experiments in hope of capturing any potential paranormal activity. Something that would validate the claims!

After thoroughly reviewing the evidence, we believe that the phenomena experienced by the homeowner are indeed paranormal in nature.

Fort Frederick was built in 1799 as a strategic overlook to counter French conquest from Algoa Bay, the fort played an important role in the British rule over South Africa but would as many of its counter parts further inland never fire a shot in anger - but merely stand as a deterrent to those who happen to float upon South African shores.

The fort consisted of a powder magazine (Gunpowder storage), a blockhouse and heavy artillery made up of 8-pounder guns and Howitzer's. 💀

Named after Frederick, the Duke of York and Albany, who played a major role in the establishment of structural, administrative and recruiting reforms while playing a pivotal role for the British against the French.

To the North lies the grave of Captain Evatt who is known for overseeing the arrival of the 1820 settlers.

Making the fort over 200 years old! 🤯

As legend has it the fort is haunted by the ghosts of Shakespeare's play. And by this I do not mean that tragedy struck during a theatrical performance but I refer to the feeling of love, tragedy, ambition, betrayal and human emotion.

It is reported that visitors to the stone building (And yes, stone tape theory does come to mind) feel the emotions echoing through the structure, it's almost as if the drama has remained. Shadows are seen and then disappear, whispers are heard from one section to the next and footsteps approach but no one arrives.

It is truly mind boggling how much we leave behind. 🥲

I will admit, I do struggle with these types of hauntings - I am not truly convinced of the "science" surrounding stone tape and residual hauntings. I tend to for the most part, and have experienced myself that these specific types of hauntings are in small doses intelligent and require a bit of creativity while investigating - Perhaps a bit more of everything.

I am curious to know if you know of a place or have experienced this type of haunting yourself and what your thoughts are surrounding this?

A radical idea indeed? 🤔

The thought of a parallel universe that exists exactly as ours or even multiple universes related to ours and ours to thiers 😳

Imagine a world were the opposite has occurred or were humans exist with different outcomes. From something as complex as wars won by different countries or as simple as the Dodo 🦤 not being extinct.

And what is our connection with that world? 🤯

The concept of parallel universes, also known as the multiverse, suggests that our Universe coexists with other nearly identical universes that we cannot directly detect.

The theory of it all 🤖

String theory, which aims to unify quantum mechanics and gravity, postulates the existence of tiny vibrating “strings” as the fundamental building blocks of matter. For string theory to work mathematically, it requires ten physical dimensions (as opposed to the four we observe).These extra dimensions could harbor a multitude of universes, each with distinct physical laws. If string theory is correct, particles could occasionally migrate from one universe to another due to collisions.

Could we in the paranormal be overlapping 👻

Studies show that light and gravity operate in three dimensions 😵 giving way for Sci-fi to suggest that ghosts might be entities from parallel universes.

However, this idea remains speculative.

I recently watched a video of Kalani the Ghost Hunter were he asked a series of questions while sunning a spirit box. The questions where aimed at the possibility that what he was communicating with was from an alternative reality. After the investigation he researched the details and eventually found the person he believed he was communicating with🫣- upon approaching the person he was told "that I can't talk about this"

Using parallel universes to explain the paranormal is a physics-based approach, not a supernatural one. In one universe, a person might be alive, while in another, they’re deceased. This overlap with the paranormal remains speculative.

Kemptonpark Hospital used to be a thriving facility with excellent doctors until its unexplained closure in 1996.

Today it stands empty, abandoned and vandalized. We as a team have investigated this mammoth on multiple occasions in search of the paranormal, however, attached to this hospital is perhaps something that is more sinister than the lingerings of something we can not see and that would be the fake pediatrician who is responsible for the deaths of multiple children.

André Esterhuizen, was a high school drop out who lied himself into working with a pediatrician after claiming to be a Doctor himself in 1982.

After a while, he opened his own practice adjacent to the famous Kemptonpark Hospital and started treating patients within the hospital.

He had a very high IQ, read up on medical books and was able to fool Doctors and patients for years, causing the deaths of innocent children via misdiagnosis and simply performing the incorrect procedures.

He was eventually caught in 1990 and at the age of 41, in May of 1992 sentenced to 18 years behind bars with the judge announcing that this case must surely be the mother of all frauds.

Where this "Doctor" is now however seems to have been lost over the years. Some claim he is working in IT, while others believe he is deceased and even finding something as small as a photograph of this man has been nearly impossible. And we have searched through articles and surfed the internet to get additional information on this former fake Doctor to no avail.

This story is something that will always be attached to the haunted hospital of Kemptonpark and some parents and families will forever remember the heart ache that this bogus Doctor inflicted. But we would like to find out whether you may have had an encounter with this Doctor.

Have you been to Kemptonpark Hospital?

Built in 1978, this hospital was filled with patients and doctors. Sadly, in 1996 the government closed the hospital without any explanation and it has been left to nature ever since.

The paranormal surrounding this hospital has been plenty 👻👀 and this building is the most famous haunted location in South Africa.
