6 days post 8mm scalp and verticut and already a full head of hair! Millions of new little grass babies showing themselves to the world. Super smooth without all the chunky kikuyu runners everywhere. I’m a happy boy! I think I’ll give it a mow this weekend if the rain gives me enough of a gap, and then it’s time for PGR and a nitrogen spike!

GUANOBOOST RESULTS!!! Application day was 7 September.
I guess I’m more surprised than I thought I’d be! The paper spec certainly shouldn’t create this outcome. Yes, I know it’s this time of year, but we’re now experiencing heat over 30 degrees and zero rain, so whilst it’s time for your lawn to get growing, heat stress should be prevalent at the very least. As Always, No filters are used on my images!!! If anything, the lighting is probably different because the pics were taken randomly. Again, I’m not prepared to over, or under sell this product, but these are the results that I can put before you!

I’m super proud of being able to keep my lawn green throughout Autumn and Winter this year! Here’s a pic for each month since March.

And there’s another 7,5 tons of lawn dressing delivered! (5m3) Sifted Vaal bruin topsoil and chicken manure mix as usual. I’ll only change over to sand once I know I have a reasonable topsoil structure. #backyardbushveld

The lawn got a rotary mow yesterday and looking alright! I’ll probably run the new groomer through it this weekend and then top dress sometime after I see the results I want. Probably next week though. Spring is close I can almost taste it!!! #backyardbushveld

Verticut - This a turf cultivation practice which cuts vertical slits through the turf canopy, and occasionally into the soil. This process breaks up runners, removes thatch and reduces surface compaction which improves water, air and nutrient penetration into the soil.

Yip, that’s LM/Berea as us South Africans know it. The Aussies will know it as Durban grass or Sweet Smother grass. It needed smoothing out, and so I did it!

Rain is mother natures lifeblood, but unfortunately also makes filming lawn vids difficult!
