After I painfully resigned from my job in March 2024, I thought to myself, God it's not over but the beginning. I have always had this dream of opening my own beauty studio whereby I even compiled a business plan for it. I had it since 2019 and was supposed to open my studio 2020 then Covid happened when everything was coming together. I was going to be funded to open my studio, I had already identified a store at the mall, like everything was coming together. But it didn't happen because Covid happened.

It took me to be unemployed to realize that I can do this. I called the funders again and unfortunately for me rules had changed that I can only be funded if my business has been running for atleast for 6 months. So now what do I do? I seat and thought to myself and said Lerato you are more than capable to do this "START SMALL".

I took the little money I was left with and bought everything I needed to start. Today I am proud to announce that I will be opening my small beauty studio in my home. Finding a space to rent isn't an option for me at this moment as I do not have the money however my home has that space why not use it.

I am looking forward to the challenges that I will face in this business venture and also the greatness that will come after the challenges. I say this because I know it's not going to be easy but I am ready for the challenge.
