INTRODUCTION OF MOLEMOLE MUSIC AND MEDIA AWARDS
ADFRI HOLDING GROUP under its marketing, media and events management sister company ADFRI MEDIA is known for hosting the famous Botlokwa Art Festival and Youth Awards (BAFYAs) that ran for over five years had since halted the production of the event with the hope of handing it over to a capable team of young leaders, but unfortunately no one has showed interest so far leaving us with no choice but to officially terminate the BAFYAs.
The concept of the BAFYAs was first thought of in 2012 and finally implemented in 2013 with the ultimate aim of celebrating and acknowledging young people in Botlokwa who were doing some sterling work in the fields of community development, art, sports, entertainment, music, beauty, fashion and entrepreneurship.
Even as an inexperienced team of organizers and executives of the event and sometimes been unprofessional, you stood by our side through thick and thin with constructive criticism, local businesses sponsored and individuals funded us year in and year out. Your efforts and contributions did not go to waste because as we analyze the effect that the awards had on our youth is humongous. Some of the nominees, winners and other participants have gone all out to represent Botlokwa in flying colors throughout the country and internationally.
We would like to thank everyone, companies and media houses who walked this experimental and learning journey with us for the past years and yes, you should be proud wherever you are because our products are now in municipal councils, two of our former nominees and winners were included in the Mail and Guardian Top 200 Young Leaders. Musicians and deejays are now forever in studio and their craft is recognized by national and commercial radio stations and TV platforms.
We might have made some mistakes in the process and I, personally as the founder would make sure that we rectify some of them but in most instances we could not change everything to satisfy every grievance but after every ceremony I would speak last an iron out all the challenges and allegations and provide a workable solution going forward as the Chief Organizer.
We have now grown in terms of our expertise and professionalism as a company and we feel like the music and media industry in Molemole has grown tremendously as a leading role player of acknowledging and awarding great talent we feel like it is about time introduce to you MOLEMEOLE MUSIC AND MEDIA AWARDS its acronym will be MOMMAs.
The MOMMAs will be open to all citizens, corporations and organizations of Molemole Municipality who will be able to provide proof of residence, active in the music, digital and mainstream media industries, between 18-55 years.
Categories will be announced and a formal standard nomination form will be published, nominations will be taken and potential nominees will have to formally accept or decline.
Nominees who accepted nominations will be voted for through Whatsapp, Facebook and SMS line and an independent body will conduct the counting of votes through a fair and transparent process and the winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on the 24th of September (Heritage Day) every year.
We are looking forward to a great working relationship with various media houses and companies in this new venture we are embarking on starting this year and hope the municipality will come on board this time around as we are doing everything in our power to sell Brand Molemole Municipality to the world.
