BOLOBEDU POLICE ACTIVATED MANHUNT OF SEVEN UNKNOWN SUSPECTS WHO COMMITTED A BUSINESS ROBBERY AT MOHLABANENG VILLAGE

| The police in Bolobedu under Mopani District have activated a manhunt for seven unknown suspects who committed a business robbery at a Fruit Shop in Mohlabaneng village on Tuesday, 5 March 2024 at about 11:00.

It is reported that a 37 year-old male victim was in the company of his brother when two unknown males entered the shop in possession of fi****ms.

The third suspect stood at the entrance of the shop and the fourth one at the gate also in possession of fi****ms.

Three additional suspects were also waiting inside a white Nissan NP300 bakkie outside the yard.

The two suspects inside the shop demanded money from the shop owner and took a substantial amount of cash including a Samsung A14, Vivo V27 and Vivo Y21 cellphones valued thousands of rands.

Afterwards, the suspects fired few shots outside the shop and subsequently fled the scene driving a white Nissan NP300 bakkie with unknown registration numbers.

There were no injuries sustained during the shooting and a massive manhunt of the unknown suspects is currently underway.

MALE ACCUSED AGED 35 SENTENCED TO LIFE IMPRISONMENT FOR RA**NG A 90-YEAR-OLD FEMALE

| Groblersdal Regional Court handed down a life imprisonment sentence to a 35-year-old male accused who r***d and assaulted an elderly woman aged 90.

The court heard that on 31 July 2022, the accused broke into the house of an elderly woman at Elandskraal and found a panga in the victim bedroom, he assaulted her with it before ra**ng her. He thereafter fled the scene with the said panga.

Police were alerted about the incident, they opened cases of r**e and assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. The victim was taken to local hospital for medical treatment.

R**e case was transferred to Mokopane Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit and assigned to Sergeant Lesetja Langa for further investigation.

The suspect was traced and arrested. Police also recovered the panga with blood stains, which was used to assault the victim.

Accused: Ephraim Matshela Madiba (35) was sentenced to life imprisonment for r**e and 24 months in imprisonment for Assault GBH. The sentences will be served concurrently.

The Provincial Commissioner of the Police in Limpopo Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, praised the investigating officer and his team for ensuring that perpetrators are removed from the society and kept into jail. “We welcome the life sentence and we are glad that justice was finally served, concluded Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe.

ASSIST GIYANI POLICE TO REUNITE THE MISSING MAN WITH HIS FAMILY

| A search operation has been launched by the Giyani police following the disappearance of a 43-year-old man, Leonard Madzivi.

The victim is a resident at Nkomo 22b village and allegedly left home in the evening on Saturday 17 February 2024 without informing anyone where he was going and has since disappeared.

Efforts to locate the victim at relatives and friends were not successful.

The type of clothes the victim was wearing at the time of his disappearance are currently unknown.

Anyone with information that can assist to reunite the missing man with his family should immediately contact the Investigating Officer Lieutenant Colonel Jan Mbhalati on 0825656491 or crime stop number 0860010111 or nearest police station or MySAPSApp.
