Meet Robert Gumede a South African Billionaire worth $200 Million Dollars which is equivalent to R3 Billion Rands.
- The 59-year-old was born and bred in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
- Gumede is reportedly one of the richest men in South Africa and according to unconfirmed reports, his net worth is between R2.8 and R3 billion.
- Gumede is the founder of the IT firm Gijima Technologies and its holding company, Gijima group, which is the largest 100% black-owned IT company in Africa.
- In 2022 he was appointed to serve in the world football governing body FIFA’s Foundation advisory board.
- According to Mpumalanga News, Gumede is a former sports administrator who owned and took the famous Nelspruit Dangerous Darkies FC from the fifth division to the elite Premier Soccer League (PSL).
- He was the youngest owner of a PSL club in the early 80s and 90s. Darkies produced Bafana Bafana stars like David Nyathi, who plied his craft in Switzerland, Spain, and Italy.
- The business mogul ventured into premium rugby when he broke the race barrier by buying 49% of the major then Afrikaner-owned and led South African rugby club, the Lions.
- Gumede was also thrust into the spotlight -when he bought Sim Dope a Porsche when he passed his matric.
- In his 50th Birthday he threw a concert and brought Rick Ross to SA for his Birthday bash.
- He owns a fleet of luxurious vehicles, a private jet and yachts.
- His business interests include Telecommunications, Real Estate, Minerals, Energy, Construction, Security and Electrical solutions among others.
- He has invested 5 to 10 Billion Rands for the development of a new Smart City in Mpumalanga for the next 10 years.
