I love reading the stories of those who served God during their time. One of the books that captured that history well is, "God's Generals" by Robert Liardon. In this book, the writer captures both the successes and the failures of ministers that have come before us.
There is one common factor evident in all those who finished well "their ability to HEAR and OBEY the VOICE of God, regardless of their circumstances. On the other hand, those who began their journey well, but didn't finish well, abandoned the voice of God along the way, bringing dishonor and ridicule to the name of the LORD.
My dear brothers and sisters, do not be deceived - God speaks. He desires to speak to every ear that is open to His voice. He is ready to communicate with anyone who enters their room, closes the door, and waits for His voice to speak. (Matthew 6:6).
While it is beneficial to hear from our pastors, prophets, spiritual fathers, and other sources, God's ultimate desire is to speak to each and every one of us. This poses a challenge to all spiritual leaders, to teach people how to hear from God, rather than solely relying on a human being for direction.
Our dependence on others to hear from God has caused immense deception and misguided us. I firmly believe that it grieves the Father to see His beloved children suffer and perish due to their misplaced trust in man.
His voice is readily available to anyone who is willing to wait and listen.
Enter your room, close the door, switch off your phone, and read your Bible. He will gently whisper into your ears and guide you successfully towards your destiny.
He is indeed a good Father.
