A former police officer has been sentenced to six years direct imprisonment by the Kuruman Regional Court, in the Northern Cape for demanding money from a complainant and promising to make his docket disappear. The charges relate to a 2018 incident in which Johannes Shuping, a detective at a time, re-arrested the complainant, despite the case already being before the court.
