E10 | Book Recommendation –Navigating The Art World
In this episode, we recommend the book Navigating The Art World – Professional Practice for the Early Career Artist written by The Delphian Gallery -
.
In the episode, we discuss some of our favourite chapters along with some of the things we learned and loved about the book. The perfect book to start your 2022 artist journey!
“This business book is aimed at early-career artists and helps to equip them with the practical tools needed to approach their careers, shining light upon some things that are often hidden from view. It has been written as a series of opinion pieces rather than a how-to guide and covers such topics as how to exhibit and sell your works, as well as things like how to stay motivated, and how to deal with the periods of insecurity that a career in the arts can often create.” – The Delphian Gallery
**GIVEAWAY**
E10 | Book Recommendation –Navigating The Art World

We reflect on institutional versus self-taught learning as well as the advantages and disadvantages associated with both. We take you through a step-by-step process from our experiences ranging from where to start, using resources to develop your skills, the value of connecting to a community of peers and the potential that dedicated self-learning could hold for your future.

**Episode 6: Book Recommendation Mash Up – Think and Steal Like an Artist**
In this book recommendation episode we compare notes on Will Gompertz’s Think Like and Artist and Austin Kleon’s Steal Like an Artist. We unpack what these authors say about how one can navigate through the realms of creativity and how to deal with creativity in the contemporary world. We discuss how Gompertz and Kleon touch on different ways to unleash your creativity whether you are a practicing artist or just someone who would like to be more of an out-of-the-box thinker in everyday life.
