Hello everyone,

I'm reaching out for some advice and help regarding a situation that's been troubling me. Back in 2014, I was arrested for public drinking, and I was taken to the police station where they took my fingerprints. I spent the night there and was released the next day without going to court. The issue now is that I seem to have a criminal record because of this incident.

Last year, in 2022, I applied for a police clearance certificate at my nearest police station. Fortunately, it only took 2 weeks to receive the clearance certificate, and it stated that I didn't have any criminal record. However, when I tried to collect my security certificate from PSira, their system indicated that I have a criminal record.

I went to the Bothongo Building in Pretoria, which also deals with police clearance, earlier this year to try to understand the problem. They advised me to return to my nearest police station since they should be the ones to cancel my fingerprints. After explaining my situation to them, they claimed they canceled it. But when I returned to PSira, they still mentioned an "awaiting case trial" when I provided my ID.

Feeling frustrated and exhausted, I went back to my local police station to complain, but this time they admitted that they're unsure about what they can do to help me. I've been trying everything I can, but I'm not getting any resolution. If anyone has any advice or insights on what steps I could take next, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you
