POLICE LAUNCH SEARCH OPERATION FOR THE TWO MISSING PERSONS

POLOKWANE : The South African Police Service in Limpopo has launched search operations for two missing persons who disappeared separately in the Giyani and Thohoyandou Policing areas.

Muyimeri Rikhotso aged 15 from Giyani Section F, allegedly left home on Saturday 12 September 2020 at about 14h00 after her elder sister asked her to go and deposit money at Giyani town, but since then, she never return home.

She was wearing a White T-shirt and blue short jean trouser.

Meanwhile, the Police in Thohoyandou have also launched a search operation for a missing man aged 56, Nephalama Livhuwani Johannes from Muledane location. He was last seen at Shayandima area as he was there to visit her mother, on Tuesday 02 September 2020 in the morning.

Allegedly, the victim was driving his VW Silver Grey Polo vehicle with registration numbers CYN 075 L and since then, he never came back home.

The Police conducted parallel search operations on both incidents at relatives, friends and surrounding areas with no success.

MEC BOSHIELO SADDENED BY THE PASSING OF ANOTHER GRADE 12 LEARNER

The Limpopo MEC for Department of Education, Polly Boshielo is saddened by the passing of another grade 12 learner, a few days after the reported killing of a female learner. Information provided to the Department is that the learner committed su***de over the weekend.

The grade 12 boy was a learner at Ntlagene Secondary School, Botshabelo village in Greater Letaba Municipality.

"We are most saddened by this tragic news. This is a great loss to us and a point of concern, especially now when we are gearing our matriculants for their preparatory examinations. Our deepest condolences to his family, friends and school mates",said MEC Boshielo

This sorrowful incident happens while the sector still trying to come to terms with the reported killing of a grade 12 female learner from Ebenezer High School in Mokopane. MEC Boshielo visited her home today and will join family and friends on Wednesday as they lay her to rest.

Learners who experience anxiety or feel overwhelmed are advised to contact health professionals for psychological support. The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) also offers free remote counselling through their

Accident in Giyani

Two people have died in a head-on collision between a Suzuki Sedan and a VW Citi Golf on the D3641 road near Nsami Dam outside Giyani town. A Suzuki Sedan was facing the oncoming traffic when it collided head on with the Golf. Both drivers (Males) were certified dead on the scene. Three passengers sustained minor injuries and the fourth passenger was critical. They were all rushed to Nkhensai Hospital.

The accident happened in the early hours of this morning and reckless driving is suspected to be the possible cause of the accident. This brings to eight the number of people who died on the provincial roads this weekend. MEC Mavhungu Lerule-Ramakhanya is making a plea to motorists to drive with caution. The MEC is also concerned about the number of fatal accidents that happen on weekends.
