Access Denied: DJ Money Mok Calls Out Mogalakwena Municipality for Abuse of Power
In a shocking turn of events, Victor Mokonyane, popularly known as DJ Money Mok, was publicly denied entry to the Mogalakwena Local Municipality on Wednesday.
According to Mokonyane, the municipality has gone to great lengths to brand him as an enemy, raising questions about its treatment of community members. DJ Money Mok was present as a member of the community to access services rendered by the municipality when the controversial incident unfolded.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that DJ Money Mok was intercepted at the municipal entrance by bouncers allegedly acting on instructions from the Municipal Manager. The bouncers not only refused him entry but conducted a search in full view of the public, filming the incident as per orders.
“This was humiliating,” said Mokonyane. “The Municipal Manager behaves like a law unto himself, with bouncers ensuring no one challenges his authority. Even accessing basic public services has been turned into an ordeal for me.”
Mokonyane alleges that this treatment stems from the municipality’s decision to single him out, effectively barring him from accessing public services. He questioned the legality and morality of a public institution declaring a community member an enemy.
“This is not normal,” Mokonyane continued. “Can a municipality really declare someone an enemy? In Mogalakwena, it seems anything is possible.”
The incident has sparked widespread criticism, with some questioning the use of bouncers to enforce such directives and others accusing the municipality of misusing public resources.
As the video of the confrontation circulates on social media, citizens and political figures alike are calling for accountability. DJ Money Mok has reached out to prominent figures, appealing to the premier of Limpopo and the national office of the ANC to take action, urging them to intervene in what he describes as an abuse of power.

Several cars parked beneath these structures were struck by falling poles and debris, leading to considerable damage. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported
