Hi there,
We're Geneva Fruits, based in Whangarei, New Zealand. With our extensive experience growing tropical fruit and fruit in general over the years, back to when we were still living in East London, South Africa. We transferred a lot of that experience we learnt from there, to here in New Zealand. Although a lot we had to alter to suit the New Zealand climate, soil and other factors that coul

d affect the growth of what's being grown by us. With all this experience under our belt, we're bringing out the best of what we have been growing and people have seen that themselves after trying out our fruit. On our property we grow a wide variety of different produce, which includes: Coffee, Sugarcane, Prickly Pears, Dragon Fruit, Cherimoya, Passionfruit as well as Banana's and most notably the Pineapples. We currently have around 30,000+ pineapple plants planted. We sell our Pineapples to the Whangarei growers market (when we have them available) which starts at 6am and ends at 10am. Our pineapples sell out very early, so if you want to purchase one/some of the most succulent and juicy pineapples around, we'd highly suggest that you get there as early as you can after it opens, as you may end up losing out purchasing fruits that week; as our pineapples are in very high demand after all the publicity we've been getting on them. The volume of people who have contacted us to date has been amazing and we're very thankful for all the positive messages and feedback we've been given, with what we've been doing. We believe that the pineapples we have are some of the best you'll ever taste. Our pineapples are spray free and are as fresh as it gets. They are sold with the tops on, where as the ones sold in supermarkets are not.

The weather has been great and the pineapples are loving it and so we have a bumper crop this week at the market. 👍 Come along nice and early. There will be no limit on the quantity for this week, so this is a good opportunity for those that have been asking to buy bulk. The mediums and large pineapples will have their tops attached. 🍍😎🇳🇿

A sudden change of plans, we will be at The Whangarei Growers Market tomorrow. The slightly warmer weather has helped with the speed in which the pineapples have been ripening. 🍍🤞🇳🇿

We will have pineapples and bananas again this week.

We are covering our Taro plants up with frost netting for the Winter to protect them against the Pukekos and will be selling the Taro leaves from $1.00 to $3.00 dollars.

Did you know that pineapples have an enzyme in the core called ‘Bromelain’ which have a lot of health benefits? This is mostly found in the core of the pineapple. 👍👌

Hi everyone, we are excited to let you know that our pineapple season is just starting to get into swing! 🍍☀️🇳🇿👍 We will be at The Whangarei Growers Market tomorrow with our spray free Queen pineapples.

Please note: There will be a limit of 5 pineapples per person. We don’t have large amounts of pineapples right now, so if you’re planning of travelling from far away to get your hands on some, it may be best to wait a bit longer. It’s all on a first come, first serve basis.

Last month while we were in South Africa we came across an article that was of Owen’s grandfather in 1959, who was still farming pineapples at the age of 90. He was growing pineapples from the early 1900s on Geneva Farm, South Africa. The Schafli’s were some of the pioneers in growing pineapples in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Following the tradition we came to New Zealand to cultivate the same ‘Queen’ variety of pineapples. Over 11 years we managed to go from 400 pineapples to hundreds of thousands of plants.
