Eid Lifestyle Market Review (Full review on my TikTok)
I checked out the Eid Lifestyle Market at Mall of Africa from May 31st to June 2nd, and it was packed with amazing vendors, especially for food lovers! If you're into trying local eats and supporting small businesses, these markets are a must. Just make sure you go with lots of 💰, it can get pricey. 👀😬
I did mess up by hitting the sweets before the mains, so I missed out on trying ALOT. But I’m definitely visiting the next one for more food fun. Overall, I had a great time at the market.
Tip: Visit in the morning or just before lunch to avoid the crowds and chaos.

Am I the only one who didn't know that Sun City has a restaurant serving traditional South African food?! 🤩 What an experience!
What I ate:
▫️Home sweet home Dish
Price: R160
It consists of chicken gizzards, chicken feet, and chicken intestines. I had it with pap, but you can also have it with samp, dumblings, or rice.
▫️Beef trotters/Cow heels
Price: R110
Comes with spinach and chakalaka. I had it with pap, but you can also have it with rice, samp, or dumblings.
Chef Motshabi made a special chilli paste for me that I had to take home, and her chakalaka was divine! 😋 It was my first time having spinach prepared this way, but definitely not my last! The side dishes complemented the mains so well, especially with the chicken feet 👀. Honestly, I had chicken feet once before in a curry, but this was a completely new experience for me. I don’t think I could do it again.
Overall, most of the dishes were flavourful (though there’s room for improvement). If you’re staying at Sun City and want a taste of local cuisine or just miss home food, Elements Restaurant is your spot!
North West locals speak Setswana, so all the dishes mentioned in the post are named in Setswana as well.
I hesitated before posting this, but I want to set realistic expectations. I sincerely hope the restaurant improves because it is absolutely stunning! Based on aesthetics alone, it would be an 11/10, with impressive architecture. However, a great restaurant needs a balance of good food and good vibes, and unfortunately, MATH hasn't won me over yet.
I attended the launch and sampled some of the offerings. The food was average, with only one standout dish, and the dessert was a complete miss—I can't even say I enjoyed it at all.
The owner and staff were very friendly and welcoming, and the mocktail I tried was delicious, so I would recommend the drinks.
Overall, it's a beautiful spot with average food. It's perfect for Instagram photos, but if you're a foodie like me, you might be disappointed, especially with the dessert. Fingers 🤞that they improved after opening because this restaurant has so much potential.
I plan to visit again later and will update you if anything changes.
