M2KR proudly welcomes YESCENE's contribution to Episode Four of Moses Taiwa Molelekwa's forthcoming 2025 REMIXES EP - Release Date: 7th MArch 2025

Morocco-born and London-based artist Yescene has been making steady progress in the house music industry since his self-released debut single Alone Again in 2018. His growing discography includes original tracks and remixes released on legendary house music labels such as King Street Sounds, Moblack Records, Mood Funk Records, Blockhead Records, Deepalma, and Vivifier Records. Yescene's music has gained recognition from top DJs and producers, including Black Coffee, Stonebridge, Low Steppa, Angelo Ferreri, Sebb Junior, and Lizzie Curious.
During the pandemic, Yescene’s daily lockdown jam video series gained thousands of viewers and led to collaborations with established artists, multiple live gigs, and a feature from DJ platform Traxsource.
Looking ahead, 2024 promises to be a pivotal year for Yescene, with new collaborations, music releases, and performances across Morocco and the UK.
Yescene’s first remix for M2KR (MELT2000 REVISITED) is Wa Mpona by the late Taiwa. Molelekwa’s innovative genre-blending and Kwaito-infused Wa Mpona, aligns perfectly with Yescene’s talent for crafting unique and vibrant electronic productions.

Joining the list of expanding contributors to M2KR's desire to revisit the work of some of South Africa's legendary musicians is DAZZ-B MUSIQ.

In a township called Soshanguve, a place situated outside the capital of South Africa, Pretoria, lives a skilled multi instrumentalist & composer by the AKA name of Dazz-B MusiQ.
Obakeng Kekana (his real name) was born on April the 10th, 2001.

He started as a DJ at a very young age in 2010 and produced the first work in 2012.Dazz-B MusiQ blends a deep-rooted passion for music with his unique, genre challenging style. From infectious rhythms from all over the African continent to cutting-edge electronic sounds all his productions demonstrate his versatility and dedication.
His main music styles are South African Traditional Music and Mali Blues.
With a string of successful hits and collaborations with top artists, Obakeng delivers unforgettable experiences on the decks and in the studio.

DJ Sprite - one of the DEEPER KINGS !

Deeper Kings, formed by DJ Sprite and Castro B in 2018, but their working relationship dates back as early as the year 2000 when they started sharing turntables in night clubs. Castro B’s history with MELT 2000 goes back to the early 2000’a when he collaborated with Master drummer Mabi Gabriel Thobejane to release his debut remix album FIDELITY re-imagining the works of a number of MELT2000 artists such as Amampondo, Mabi, Madala Kunene, Doc Mthalane, Shiyani Ngcobo and Busi Mhlongo. Castro’s remix of Mam Busi’s track Father Of My Children became a classic in South Africa with many radio DJ’s continuing to play it on the airwaves.

Almost 20 years later M2KR are proud to present Deeper Kings revisited track Awuku Muzi from Busi Mhlongo’s legendary album Urbanzulu.

After numerous recordings and tours across Southern Africa with multinational band members led by Bluesman Madala Kunene, Swiss guitarist and producer Carlo Menet, aka Sixela, is revisiting their collaborative work.Sixela selected to rework ‘uMvelinqangi” – one of Madala Kunene’s songs which is deeply rooted in his Zulu folklore – a prayer of seeking forgiveness and spiritual reflection.In his debut release, Sixela highlights his expressive guitar and vibrant production, adding his own colours to the track while honouring the raw spirit of the original, characterised by Kunene’s trance-like acoustic guitar.
