Trauma has many different faces. Dr. Maté believes that the path to individual and collective healing starts with society - parents, teachers, physicians and policymakers - gaining insight into how trauma shows up through behaviours and diseases. By being curious about the root causes instead of treating the symptoms, we can begin to see wounds as teachers.
As Gabor says: Trauma cannot always be conquered, fixed, or resolved, but it can be heard, held and loved.
