This year you can honor Mandela's lifelong commitment to service and upliftment and make a tangible difference by joining us on the 18th of July 2024 in reclaiming the walls of Forest Heights High💚 and restore school pride through our Mandela Day Paint Project.

Today our Afrikaans Home Language learners attended the production of their prescribed drama "Krismis van Map Jacobs"
at the Artscape Theatre , accompanied by Ms.Witbooi,Mr.Cyster and Ms.Spyker.

We trust that seeing the drama come te life on stage will enrich their experience in class and assist in preparing for the NSC exams.

The Electoral Commission of Sout Africa (IEC) and Department of Basic Education has launched their annual Schools Democracy Programme earlier this month.

We have been fortunate to be part of this programme yesterday. The IEC engaged with our grade 12 learners to inspire democratic values and civic participation, fostering a new generation of informed voters and active citizens.

School applications are now open, the WCED opens the application window for Grade 1 and Grade 8. As a parent, here are a few steps to ease your anxiety:
✔️Create your profile
✔️Certify your documents (Parent ID, Last school report card, proof of address, birth certificate)

Remember, on the first day that system always has glitches because of the volume influx.

✔️Choose 3-10 schools.
✔️Some schools want you to drop the applications after you've submitted online. Print each schools application (2-3 pages) and attach the supporting documents and drop off at the school. You can call the schools to find out of they want the hard copies.

Application assistance for Metro East will be available at PicknPay Qualisave on 23 and 24 March 2024 and Spurwing Primary 23 March 2024.

The application is open for a month, until 12 April 2024. Schools start responding end of May.

Ａｔｈｌｅｔｉｃｓ ２０２４

Our athletes competed in the Northern Zone Section C athletics competition on 27 February 2024. The team took 4th place amongst 10 schools.

We are extremely proud of every athlete who represented our school and made our school community proud.

They certainly beat the odds. Thank you to each and everyone who contributed and supported fundraising efforts to ensure our athletes are able to partake in the competition.

A Huge congratulations to Tatum Chapman for her inclusion in the Northen Zone WP athletics team. A full circle moment for our school as Tatum's mom was our WP athlete about 20 years ago. You go girl make us proud -Hier kom ons se WP!

This week has been a particularly difficult week for our school community
as we mourn the loss of one of our grade 10 scholars ,Jason Julius.He was a vibrant young man, one of our star athletes and a passionate rugby player.

We pray God's strength and peace upon his family and friends during this difficult time 🙏
Thank you to everyone who paid tribute and honored his life today.

Rest in peace and rise in glory Jason Julius

Our school will be competing in the Northern Zone C section athletics on Tuesday 27 February 2024

Our learners are eager to represent their school and make us proud.These learners come from various neighboring areas and have a deep rooted love for sports,however many of our learners come from single or social grant income homes and find it difficult to provide even the bare necessities. The school also suffers major financial difficulties because of this.

We strive to give our learners the best opportunities for future successes in any which way it presents itself. Therefore,we are seeking donations to support our athletics team with the necessities they need on the day.

We would hereby like to request donations of the following items

Adhesive Strapping(sticky bandage)
Plasters and first aid items
Energade/powerade(concentrate)
Ice Packs
Snack items
Monetary Contributions.

President Cyril Ramaphosa hosted the Pre-SONA Youth Employment Scheme Initiative. The Deputy Principle Mr Philander together with Mrs Africa and Mrs Mdledle were in attendance. The engagement highlighted the various youth opportunities that are available within the Province. ABET is for students who dropped out of primary school grade 8 and lower

R100 cash fee per subject is payable at the start of each month.

It is not a requirement to complete all subjects in one year,students can register for a minimum of 2 subjects per year.

Students are not required to attend classes in order to complete matric and can study from home using their own study resources which is available on the WCED website

Classes have started on 5 February 2024
