❓Did you know the African Penguin is now classified as ‘critically endangered’?
Child Magazine recently had the opportunity to visit SANCCOB Cape Town. We took the guided tour, and were blown away by the amazing work the dedicated team are doing to save and protect our beloved seabirds.
🐟Their informative tours are fun and educational for all ages. We had the opportunity to witness a Home Pen feed, and experienced the affectionate antics of Rocky, a permanent resident since her rescue in 2009, as she is unable to be released back into the wild.
On our tour we learned all about the research, rehabilitation, training, education, and fundraising initiatives of SANCCOB saves seabirds as well as the various ways to get involved – including volunteering, donations, adoption, and membership.

*The primary objective of the Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially endangered species like the African penguin.
