Unless the gods of loadshedding mess it all up, DJ Finnjävel will return to the Cape Town airwaves tonight for two hours of Wrong Rock!
Here are some live pics taken by Henrik Gustafsson at various venues in Helsinki, and all these bands will be featured on the show this evening.
Earlier this month, the Black Magic Six duo released their fifth album (but the photo is from 13 September 2019).
Lee Ranaldo visited G Livelab Helsinki on 8 March 2023 for a solo concert.
The Waterboys played their second live show ever in Finland on 19 April 2023 (the first one was in 1989). Mike Scott played the piano (instead of the guitar) on two songs, you’ll hear one of them on the Wrong Rock Show.
Suistamon Sähkö and Ya Tosiba both played a free outdoor gig on 20 May 2023, so you can look forward to some electronic/traditional fusion, as well, if you tune in to Bush Radio 89.5 FM in Cape Town at 10 pm or online http://ndstream.net/bushradio/pc.htm anywhere.

The end of this year’s Roskilde Festival was all South African!
Being an old rock fart, DJ Finnjävel didn’t even know what amapiano is before witnessing two amapiano DJ sets in a row. First out were TxC, followed by Uncle Waffles.
Real Phelimuncasi closed the whole festival with a sweaty gqom session.

Fulu Miziki (Congo) kicked off the fourth and final day of Roskilde Festival with their amazing DIY instruments and costumes, made out of garbage.
Lucrecia Dalt (Colombia) had some unfortunate technical problems during her gig, hopefully she’ll get another chance some year soon.
Black Country, New Road (UK) were supposed to play Roskilde already at the cancelled 2020 festival, now they finally made it here.
I saw Tinariwen (Mali) live for the first time at one of the smallest stages in Roskilde 2001, this year they entered the gigantic Orange main stage.
