The once-off public holiday on the 15th of December is declared as “a day of hope, a day of celebration, and a day of unity.” In honour of this holiday and all that it represents, our friends at are hosting another iconic event by doing what they do best- bringing people together through incredible music, delicious food, local fashion & an all-round good time.

There will be SL photographers capturing the best fits of the party & more importantly, to kick off the new year, we will be giving away some special prizes to the best-dressed.

A couple of years ago I stumbled across Umthatha Welanga an NPO based in Khayelitsha that focuses on kids who are impacted by HIV/AIDS.

Cos of my love for kids and the township, I was touched by the type of work the organisation does and formed a close relationship with them.

It’s so easy to take what it is that we have for granted. Some people don’t have have the luxury or choice but I believe no kid should be born without that option. This organisation gives them that. It restores their dignity, it ensures that they are able to face yet another day and hopefully live a long and fruitful life.

For my birthday, I didn’t want any gifts but pleaded that you support a great cause by paying it forward in any way you possibly can. Many messaged and some called, I was really touched and humbled by your kindness. As we really do need each other more than we realise.

I would like to urge each of you to please support this organisation. Maybe by sending a little donation their way, time with the kids, clothes or even non perishable items. Every little bit helps🙏🏾

Their ages range from 3-18 years old. And many of them come from child headed families. They were forced to grow up young and didn’t have the opportunity to become kids like many of us did.

Hopefully on the 4th of December we can go drop off the supplies and spend a bit of time with the beautiful angels 😇

First and foremost I’d like to take a moment to thank each and everyone of you for wishing me a Happy Birthday. Y’all really made me feel incredibly special. Love is such a powerful thing. It restores. It heals and makes one realize how much they matter in life.

Thank you for supporting the birthday celebrations over the weekend, the team at Ayep Yep, as well as the team at the milk sure know how to make someone feel valued and appreciated. To each of the DJs that performed, y’all made my nights dope. Thank you for having my back. I love y’all.

This year has been very challenging on so many levels. I have been tested on multiple fronts and have been stretched in many different directions. But because of the Grace of God and his favour upon my life, I continue to rise.

Growing up I didn’t really think I’d reach 35. Even this year I lost a good friend. Someone I was building with and was hoping to build more with. Where we come from we lose our peers at a young age. So another trip around the Sun is a true blessing I don't take for granted.

I’m so blessed to be alive, well and full of desire to continue striving for a better tomorrow. I live with the intention of making the world a better place than I found it in my own little way. It is said that there are 2 important days in one’s life. The day you were born and the day you find your purpose. I am so blessed that I found mine. Which is to “Teach, Create and Inspire ”, I love to add value to others. It gives me so much joy.

35 years! Shuuu…I’ve lived!!! I’ve made many mistakes, and chances are I will continue to make some more. But my intentions will always remain pure, and wish to always remain teachable when I do wrong. I have also done some incredible things and impacted so many people. Looking back, I am so proud of myself and so inspired to do even more.

I value each and everyone that I meet each day of my life. Thank you for being part of my book. Thank you for praying for me. Thank you for investing in me. Thank you for loving me.

We need each other more than we realize. Let’s try and be kinder. Love is in all of us.
