Say hello to Hana Kesiah Jane M. Real. She believes she is best suited to become the next Hara Sa FU because being a beauty queen is actually in the heart – true beauty is always on the inside, a feat that radiates outward. “We are all deserving,” says Hana, “We are all diverse, confident, smart women,”, a notion she says warmly about her friendly competition. But Hana also states in a wholesome way, “I’m a woman of substance and can have an impact on the world because of my positive attributes.” If she had a super power, she would even choose the ability to heal others. Upon the death of her beloved grandfather, Hana experienced true loss for the first time. It’s grief was incredibly bitter, one she is still struggling with to swallow since he cannot do their traditional opening prayer on her birthday. Not only would people get more time if Hana could heal them with this particular super power, it would also alleviate the burden healthcare workers face with their intense schedule.

Being a student in the College of Business Administration, Hana’s advocacy revolves around financial independence for all. Living in an isolated area, she witnesses the lives and struggles of her community. Most of the problems stem from poverty with approximately 64% enduring food insecurity. With her own family situation, they have to take out loans and when the pandemic hit, Hana’s mother began asking the neighbors for help. When Hana’s mother stopped smiling, it wiped Hana’s smile clean off her face as well. Therefore, Hana seeks to empower people with social businesses and microfinancing plans, especially for women to gain capital and have a healthy, independent livelihood.
