As we put 2023 behind us and look ahead to 2024, I look back at a year of highs and lows and look forward to another year of new adventures. 2023 was our first calendar year in our new home. And of course, also the year that I asked the amazing girl I share it with to be my wife!
Jess and I took 4 really amazing trips this year. Aside from our annual trip together down the St. Croix River, we also took a memorable trip to Quebec City/Jacques Cartier National Park. And got to share a favorite childhood tradition of my sister and I's with her and her family, by visiting Cavendish, PEI.
It was a year I flew a helicopter! A year I was lucky enough to paddle through TWO majestic mountain ranges in two different provinces! A year where I got to check out my first live rodeo! A year I stepped back on stage for the first time in a while. And a year I not only got back on a bike for the first time since high school, but rode one all through Quebec City!
It was a year of good times with friends and family. A year of new memories made, and old ones unlocked. And thankfully a year that felt a little more 'normal' than the previous few. But it was also a year of a few setbacks. We lost some good people this year. Some I had known for decades. And some I was only lucky enough to just meet.
As I carry all these memories into a new year, I look forward to what the next 12 months will bring.

This was the longest river trip Jessica and I have ever taken together. Even though it rained one day, it was still a fantastic time! And it was pretty cool to say we spent an entire week outdoors!

Jess and I stayed in a lighthouse on beautiful Prince Edward Island! We also checked out some local beaches (and saw some amazing rock formations), toured one of Canada's oldest cities on a bicycle built for two, and even rode a rollercoaster!

Jess and I took a mini-road trip to some of our favorite hidden gems in Charlotte County, last August! We swam, hiked, chased storms, fished & magnet fished, and picked wild berries! What a fun day! And all it cost us was gas, and the price of a couple ice creams 😉
