The evolution of the spoken English language.
History comes alive.
A bit in the weeds, but I find it fascinating how the flow of commerce shifted with the waxing of the "Middle Ages" and waning of the "Dark Ages".
My two favorite contemporary composers
Philip Glass and John Adams, both pivotal figures in contemporary classical music, share a foundation in minimalism, though their interpretations and developments within the genre have taken distinct paths. Glass's music is characterized by its repetitive structures and hypnotic rhythms, maintaining a more consistent minimalist style throughout his career. In contrast, Adams’s work, while rooted in minimalism, incorporates dramatic shifts and a broader array of influences, evolving into what is often described as post-minimalism.
Despite their different approaches, both composers have had a profound impact on the musical landscape and have received numerous accolades for their contributions. Their relationship is one of mutual respect, recognizing each other's influence on the minimalist movement. While they haven't directly collaborated, they have acknowledged each other's work publicly. Adams has occasionally offered gentle critiques of the stricter minimalist approach, hinting at the differences in their musical philosophies, while Glass has emphasized his unique trajectory and influence.
In summary, Glass and Adams, though starting from a similar minimalist foundation, have carved out individual paths that reflect their distinct musical visions, contributing richly to the evolution of contemporary classical music. Their relationship is characterized by professional respect and acknowledgment of each other's significant roles in the genre.

Enough to drive me batty!
I must say that working on this upcoming scholarly reference book "Ancestral Notes And Histories" is by far the most complicated thing I have ever done. I work on it first thing, every morning, while my mind is fresh. After about 3 hours I must stop and work on other projects because my mind begins to scramble like eggs!
The tome is seven years in the making, a continuous parsing of medieval historic records, cross referencing, identifying false jottings (or weighing the credibility of conflicting reports and picking the most probable).
And yet I love this exercise! We are in the home stretch, Falstaff, and should be ready for print before year end, yay!

The Nonsuch House as referenced in my book The Blue Enigma.
Available everywhere online, paperback or eReader.
👍😎🎩
Nonsuch House, built in 1579, was a four-story building on Old London Bridge.
It's the earliest recorded prefabricated structure. Built in the Netherlands, it was disassembled, shipped to London in 1578 and reassembled with each timber marked for accurate reconstruction, read more 👇

As predicted in my book The Tides Of Time, but it's happening already.
From Dana Point, California, to Long Island, New York, and Nantucket, Massachusetts, some of the nation's priciest coastal real estate is in an increasingly precarious position due to climate change.
A Nantucket home listed last summer for just over $2 million sold early this year for just $600,000.
Just like on my near-future dystopian sci-fi book The Tides Of Time, available everywhere.
France's transport minister said on Wednesday that "flying taxis" — large drones capable of transporting several people at a time — would be authorized for use during the Paris Olympics. https://yhoo.it/3RrY8R7
One of these is in grave danger from sea level rise over the next couple dozen years. The other is not.
Read about it in my book The Tides Of Time available everywhere online; hardcover, paperback, slim edition, and eReader.
This film could be based on my book BEDLAM which was based on the tragic story of my own cousin (5 generations back) Lady Emily Reade of Shipton Court, Oxon.
Carry on...and carry your handle!

Jeremy Brett is still the creepiest, most sociopath of Sherlock Holmes's portrayed on the screen. Closest to Doyle's creation, I suspect.
Just as I predicted in my new book The Tides Of Time, available on all platforms worldwide!
Scientists argue the Saffir-Simpson scale, which is used to classify the strength of hurricanes, needs a bigger number. Of the 197 hurricanes rated as Category 5 from 1980 to 2021, five would fit the description of a hypothetical Category 6.
