Reeko - Lyra [SMDE46] To accompany the Urmah LP, Reeko has created Lyra - an hour long ceremonial-like journey where ingredients of his Samurai Music releases “Urmah” and “Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist” weave in and out of a hazy, ethereal trip. It’s an enchanting listen that captivates and mesmerises with its warmth and delicate pulses. Lyra is essentially Reeko in Dub, with all-new core rhythmic elements and ambient spices sculpting the experience. Lyra is released this Friday 30.08 on Limited Cassette and Digital. Brendon Moeller - Vacuum [SMDE45] Esteemed musical chameleon Brendon Moeller, renowned for his highly respected work in Deep Ambient, Dub Techno and a myriad of variations on these themes - turns his hand to 170 for Samurai Music. Vacuum is the first fruits of this collaboration and encompasses a cross section of his approach to the tempo. Dub-wise 170 that hints at a deeper version of autonomic, but ultimately invents a new sound that only Brendon and his analogue dungeon could conjure. 30 years of mastering the art of the deep filtered through an all new tempo lens. Vacuum is a gentle 6 track record that will become a close companion to those tuned to, or open to embracing the rewards of Brendons impeccable sound design and mastery of immersive, minimalist warmth. The Untouchables - Onward Forward [SMDE44] Brussels residents The Untouchables return to Samurai for their fifth full release for the label. While working on their next full length LP for Samurai, a cluster of tunes began surfacing where their inherent dub flavourings had become the dominant characteristic of the tune. Such was the infectious power of these rhythms, it became apparent a full EP of this sound was presenting itself organically. Onward Forward is the EP The Untouchables have always needed to make - a release that will leave an indelible mark on the year. We’re delighted that Samurai is the imprint that releases the EP to kick off our summer 2024 collection. Released on 12” and Digital.
