Hola! 🌟 Here’s a little bit about me, what drives me forward and fills me with a sense of purpose…

My journey, diverse and colourful, has seen me wear many hats over the years. I’ve captured beautiful souls through photography, documented vibrant events across the UK, worked as a part-time model, been an artist, wildlife blogger, activist, web designer, and the creator of an artisan accessories b

rand… To name but a few! The notion of fitting into a predefined niche never resonated with my multi-passionate spirit. Originally from Cornwall, UK, I've called Spain home since 2018, falling in love with the country, its vibrant culture, laid-back lifestyle, and extraordinary people while on holiday. I currently split my time between the Tarragona coast and the Val d'Aran in the Pyrenees mountains. Challenges, like those brought by the pandemic and Brexit, led me to re-evaluate my life. Titles like photographer, artist, and creator that once defined me seemed distant, and my urge to create had dimmed as most days my mental health left me with nothing more than the energy to survive. I closed my businesses and embarked on an ongoing journey of soul-searching and re-discovering who the hell I am. Each layer I peel away leaves me with more clarity about my path and what I want to do with my time on this planet. Each of us gains our own unique set of skills and tools as we navigate life’s challenges, and my life has been a hell of a ride that at times I wasn’t sure I’d survive. I’m constantly gaining new skills, insights, and discovering more about myself, and I want to use those experiences and skills to help inspire, empower, and uplift others. Let’s shed societal expectations, embrace authenticity, and craft lives that truly resonate on a soul level. Some of you may think you know me, but let's be real – none of us are the same people we once were. Stagnancy isn’t sexy, I know from experience. I no longer feel drawn to the glamour of the content I once crafted, but the passion to create has been reignited. We are all creators, continuously molding our lives through actions and decisions, and I'm thrilled to finally be back at a place where I’m ready to infuse joy and magic back into this creative process, hopefully inspiring some others along the way. The future lies before us like a blank canvas, inviting exploration. Life, to me, is all about the journey. I truly believe that we're here to evolve, chase joy, and do things that make us feel expansive, not restricted and small. If this resonates with you, join me on this captivating and fascinating adventure called life as a spiritual being having a weird and wonderful human experience. 🚀✨

An idea that's been lingering in my mind for months. I hope to revisit her in the future as I improve with watercolours, which are still way out of my comfort zone.

It feels like I'm learning to paint from scratch again, but I'm embracing the challenge and enjoying every step of the journey. I am making the most of unfavourable circumstances and seeing it as an opportunity to try new things.

What's something new you've tried recently?

Hello lovely person! How are you today?

I've been working on some more substantial projects, but I won't be able to work on those for a couple of weeks as I am spending time in the mountains for my upcoming birthday.

In the meantime, I've been playing around with some sketchbook doodles, getting ideas out of my head and onto paper. I'm considering developing this one into a larger piece. It's been exciting to experiment with a looser style and have fun with different textures and mediums.

Honestly, sharing my sketchbook is a bit nerve-wracking since it's my messy, private space 🤣, but I'm pushing myself to get out of my comfort zone and share more of my process.

Hey, everyone!

I know I disappeared after saying I'd start posting again, but life happens, and I'm done beating myself up over it.

Social media can be an amazing tool for creatives, but it can also be soul-crushing. Sometimes, it’s both.

Imposter syndrome is real. Feeling inadequate next to thousands of AI-generated pieces is real. Thinking, "Why even bother?" is something many artists face.

For me, social media was stifling my creativity. I needed to step back and figure out what I wanted to create without its influence, and to find my own style and rhythm again.

I've also been juggling life, health, and big decisions. Do we ever really figure it all out? Probably not.

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know I'm alive, creating offline, and hoping to start posting a little whilst also not destroying my mental health in the progress.

✌️💖

How's everyone doing? It's been a while. I've been pretty ill over the last month or so with what I'm beginning to suspect is long cvd, so I haven't been able to get much done as I'm constantly exhausted, sadly.

I'm trying to start drawing a bit more now that I can sit comfortably for a while (I tore my glute muscle recently in a fall - do not recommend), but honestly, stress and overwhelm is making it hard. I always want to be honest with you guys, and the truth is that I'm struggling in more ways than one.

Caught in the whirlwind of life lately – viruses, personal stuff, and cosmic craziness adding to the mix! 😬

Uncovered these winter studies hiding in my sketchbook. Should've shared them earlier, but hey, better late than never, I guess.

Now, you might be thinking... it's only April, winter wasn't that long ago, right? Well, truth be told, I think these are actually from two winters ago 🤣

In my defence, I misplaced this sketchbook for ages and only recently rediscovered it, retuening to it after my other sketchbook – along with nearly all my art supplies – got swiped.

It is what it is 🤷‍♀️ $%@!!! And breatheee.

What are you working on lately? Let me know in the comments!

As the wind whipped outside, I embraced the opportunity for a snug day indoors, accompanied by my faithful sketchbook. While I'm still on the mend, there's something undeniably therapeutic about letting my pencil dance across the pages.

Returning to the basics feels like rediscovering an old friend, especially after the frustrating setback of losing most of my art supplies to theft. It's been ages since I simply sat down and sketched with graphite, so I'm enjoying picking up the pencils again recently.

Sharing my sketchbook work online is honestly a little terrifying for a recovering perfectionist. I've often hesitated to reveal these raw, unpolished pieces. It feels vulnerable as a sketchbook for me is far more personal.

But if I'm going to showcase creativity online, I want to offer a more authentic glimpse into my process. It's easy to fall into the trap of believing that everything we share must be a masterpiece, but every artist has a trove of messy creations they keep hidden.

My sketchbook is a playground for experimentation - a place where I can explore various styles, unleash my emotions through bold strokes, or jot down quick thumbnail sketches for ideas. Over time, I've learned to shed my attachment to perfection and embrace the joy of creating for its own sake.

Getting back into the flow with some sketchbook fun! 😊

After a challenging few weeks battling illness, it feels amazing to reconnect with my creativity. Still on the mend, but being able to sketch again is such a relief.

Oh, and if you're wondering about the strategically placed pencil, why yes, it is covering up some janky looking hands 😅

I hate drawing hands at the best of times, and when I'm ill, well lets just say they're definitely not looking good.

And you know what? THAT IS FINE!

People get so caught up in making their sketchbooks perfect pieces of art, and if you love that then there is nothing wrong with that, but to me they're meant to be a place where I am are free to experiment and create for the fun of it.

Not everything you make will look good, but that's how you grow.

In the age of social media, we put so much pressure on ourselves to be perfect, but if you're not enjoying what you're doing, what's the point?

Opening up: It's been a struggle lately, battling imposter syndrome and feeling stuck in my head. But I refuse to let self-doubt hold me back. So, I'm turning to my trusty sketchbook, where there's no judgment, just pure creative exploration. Here's to silencing the inner critic and letting inspiration flow.

Hey! It's been a bit quiet on my end the last few days, but for good reason!

I've been fully immersed in some incredible online events this week, soaking up wisdom, activating my inner potential, and delving deep into healing practices. 💫

It's been such a transformative experience, and I'm still integrating a lot, so I've been making sure to also give my body the rest it needs.

I think we need to stop feeling guilty about resting, it's an integral part of growth that people tend to forget about.

In the meantime, here's a Procreate drawing that's been in the works in odd moments of calm for a while now.

It all started during a cosy movie night with Beetlejuice when I was ill a while back... in case the influence wasn't entirely obvious 🤣

For those who've been following my stories, you've already seen this, so sorry about that. I'll post some new things soon!

What are your go-to comfort movies? I rarely watch TV, but every now and then, it's nice to disconnect with some nostalgic vibes!

Let’s dive into one of the biggest dream crushers and manifestation blockers out there. Hint: it's not money or resources – it's self-doubt.

We've all struggled with it. Seriously, show me someone who hasn't questioned their own abilities at some point! But here's the thing: why do some people thrive while others get stuck in doubt?

The secret sauce? Those who thrive acknowledge the doubt, but they refuse to let it call the shots. Instead, they pour their energy into nurturing their confidence. They shift their focus from what could go wrong to what could go oh-so-right.

They don't let fear freeze them in their tracks; they face it head-on and keep moving forward anyway.

So here's your challenge for today: every time that sneaky voice of doubt creeps in with its "what if" scenarios, flip the script. Ask yourself, "What if everything turns out even better than I dared to imagine?"

Your dreams are eagerly awaiting you – and they're just a step beyond your comfort zone. 💫

Today, while scrolling through my cloud account, I stumbled upon some childhood artwork tucked away in a dusty corner. It sparked a wave of reflection — about beginnings, growth, and the winding journey of an artist.

My path hasn’t always been smooth. There were years where my creativity lay dormant, barely a whisper in my life. Yet, as I gazed upon those early owl sketches, I couldn't help but smile at the innocence and pure joy they evoked. They marked the humble origins of my artistic voyage, the initial strides towards destinations I had yet to envision and places I’m still yet to discover.

From those simple scribbles to the intricate owl painting on the right — hands down the most detailed piece I've ever painted, commissioned a few years ago — it's been an incredible journey. There have been so many moments of doubt, frustration, and the temptation to give up, yet through it all, those owls — my silent companions — remained by my side, whispering words of encouragement even on the darkest days.

Today they reminded me that every artist embarks as a novice, armed only with a passion for creation. And while the path may twist and turn, and occasionally you might get stuck in the mud for a while or find yourself going around in circles, everything we do is part of our journey. You’re still an artist even when you’re not creating.

So, if ever you doubt your abilities or question your progress, or feel like you should be doing more, remember this — we all start as beginners. It's okay to stumble, to err… That’s how we grow. It’s also okay to take time out, to pick something up again after quitting, and to change your mind. We are meant to evolve, not remain the same.

Keep creating, keep exploring, and above all, keep believing in the magic of your own journey. 🌟✨

Today marks a creative turning point for me – I'm venturing into uncharted territory by picking up watercolours for the first time in years! We've always had a bit of a rocky relationship – they're not exactly my go-to medium. But hey… Lately, nothing seems to be my go-to, and they're one of the few things I have left since nearly all of my art supplies went missing.

Suprisingly I’m having fun and haven’t ripped anything up yet. I guess sometimes you’ve gotta shake things up to break through those creative blocks! ✨

Who knows, maybe this unexpected detour will lead to some surprising breakthroughs…

What about you? What's one step you can take out of your comfort zone today? 🌈🚀

Hey beautiful souls, just dropping by to send some love your way. If you’re feeling a bit alone or unnoticed today, remember that you’re truly cherished. And if it feels like love is in short supply around you, maybe it’s time to turn inward. Are you giving yourself the love and attention you truly deserve?

I used to dismiss the idea that our outer reality reflects our inner world as just some mystical concept (although I still adore all things mystical), but I’ve come to realise it’s grounded in science too. Our reticular activating system acts as a filter between our conscious and subconscious minds and the outside world, sifting through the billions of pieces of data our brains process and focusing on what it deems most important to us — what we consistently think about.

So, if you’re constantly being hard on yourself, guess what? That’s exactly what you’ll see reflected back to you.

I know, it can be a tough pill to swallow, but it’s also empowering. Now that we understand this, we can take action to change it. It’s time to shift our focus and start nurturing ourselves with the love and kindness we truly deserve.

Take some time today to sit with yourself and show yourself some love. Maybe jot down a list of things you like about yourself (start small if this feels challenging), indulge in a luxurious bath with all your favourite products, or crank up your favourite feel-good tunes and dance like no-one’s watching to lift your spirits. Whatever makes you feel good, do it. Yes, even that…. Especially that! 😉

Don’t rely on someone else to give you the love, care, or pleasure you deserve.

Remember, you are seen, you are loved, and you are worthy.

Hey cosmic creator! ✨

I wanted to share something that's been on my mind lately, and I hope it resonates with you too. It's about the delicate balance between creativity and commerce, and how it's okay to create just for the sake of creating.

You see, I used to be caught up in the hustle of monetising every hobby, every passion, every creative pursuit - if you’ve been around here a while you know that! But I've come to realise that art shouldn't be about making money. It's perfectly okay to create simply because it brings you joy, without feeling the pressure to turn it into a business.

I've seen so many people hold back from pursuing their creative passions because they don't think they're "good enough" to monetise them. But who gets to decide what's "good" anyway? If you love creating, then create! if that’s what lights your soul up then I truly believe that’s what you’re meant to be doing. Plus, the only way to improve is to keep practising and experimenting.

For me, closing my businesses and taking a step back was a wake-up call. It made me realise that I'd lost touch with my creativity. The pressure to turn a profit had sucked all the joy out of it. But now, with the freedom business model I've embraced, I'm able to reclaim that joy.

If your art is a business and you love it, that’s amazing for you. I’m not here to take that away from you or tell you that’s not right - it works for many, and I'm genuinely so proud of each and every one of you! 💕 But for me personally, it doesn’t work and was incredibly detrimental to my mental and physical health. I know I’m not the only one.

If you're feeling trapped in the cycle of turning everything you love into a side hustle, constantly creating more just to earn more, and craving more freedom in your life, I'm here to help. Let’s chat and see if this business model would be a fit for you, helping to create a business that supports your creativity rather than stifling it.

Your art doesn’t have to be the product in order for you to make a living creating and sharing your art! I know, I was mind-blown too. 🤯 And yes, you can still sell your art alongside.

Comment "FREEDOM" below if you're interested in learning more. Your creative journey is worth investing in, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

Sending you lots of love and creative energy,
Zinzi Maya 🌟
